Welcome back to the GearGames weekly video game release feature here at Gear Diary! Hopefully everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday and you are squeezing in some last minute relaxation today before getting back to reality tomorrow! Fortunately things are slowing down, so chasing after new releases is one thing you WON’T have to stress about from here on out. There are a few new releases, and my big picks this week are a puzzle game in a classic franchise Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, and also the final release in the trilogy of add-ons for the strategy game Elven Legacy.
The other obvious releases are the delayed tactical shooter Rogue Warrior and the movie tie-in James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game. Neither is getting spectacular early buzz, but they still might provide some decent fun. There are a few other releases I haven’t mentioned, so check out the list!

- Rogue Warrior
- James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game
- Strike Force Red Cell
- MX vs. ATV Reflex

- Rogue Warrior
- James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game
- MX vs. ATV Reflex

- Yoga for Wii
- Rogue Trooper: Quartz Zone Massacre

Some notes from last week:
- Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
- Karaoke Revolution
- Scene It? Twilight
- Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain
- King Arthur – The Role-playing Wargame
- Nice add-on that is short on new features but long on mission content and loaded with soem fun zombie humor. If you love the original, this will be fun.
- Not much content, so this is a pretty thin release.
- Did anyone doubt that this would be a sad and sorry attempt to quickly cash-in on the movie release?
- Early reviews are calling this abysmal. Shame.
- More war than role-playing, but this under-the-radar game offers loads of fun and a surprisingly deep experience.
What games am I playing now? Well, at this point I am STILL saturated with a growing backlog … but here are a couple:
- PC: Dragon Age: Origins – yeah, still playing.
- PSP: LittleBigPlanet – since I don’t have a PS3 I hadn’t played this … but naturally jumped at the PSP release once it hit the PSN.. It is a blast!
- PSP: Assasin’s Creed: Bloodlines – my first impressions have not been good!
- Mac: Avernum 6 – I have been beta-testing this since September, and can finally talk about it … it is a wonderfully done game that is massive and the best looking of Spiderweb’s games.
So what are you playing? Chime in below!
Enjoy gaming!
