Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and Mysteries of the Sith, work flawlessly (albeit requiring native dlls for network play) under Wine. Presumably it's similar with crossover, however, I suspect where you are let down is in the video driver department. The game works spectacularly at 1280×1024 with my GeForce 8800.

Whichever video card your netbook has, probably has inferior drivers, if it's Intel, the Windows counterpart is many times more complete than the linux offering.
