Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone.     Once when I was in college, a group of us driving to Krispy Kreme wound up following a woman who did a transformation from a housecoat and curlers, to a dress, stocking, heels, makeup and hair fluff…all while driving up Waters Ave. We just kept following her. At one point she had to stop the car to pull up her stockings. When she was done, we passed her and applauded. Nothing about what people do when they drive shocks me anymore.
