Welcome back to the Windows Mobile Weekly Roundup series. I hope you guys had a great week! Let’s get started with this week’s roundup, starting with the Featured Software of the Week!

Featured Software of the Week

Pocket Informant

If you have been using Windows Mobile, then I’m pretty sure you heard of Pocket Informant, a Personal Information Manager (PIM) that has been around on Windows Mobile since 2001.

The latest update of Pocket Informant, v 9.10, provides support for the popular task management style Getting Things Done (GTD). If you are unfamiliar with the concepts of GTD I would suggest you take a look at this Wikipedia article. GTD support in Pocket Informant 9 includes the Inbox to collect your tasks quickly, Context and Project Groups, and Next Actions.

Pocket Informant 9 also provides a more finger friendly interface and gesture support for Windows Mobile 6.5.  Additionally, PI 9 brings along some slick animations and some overall bug fixes.

New Release

Ultimate Sudoku

Panoramic, the developer who brings you moTweets, now brings you Ultimate Sudoku. It features three challenging logic-based puzzle games, Sudoku, Killer Sudoku and Kakuro.

In Sudoku the goal of the game is to fill the cells of a nine by nine grid with the digits 1 through 9. Kakuro combines the elements of Sudoku with the strategy of a crossword puzzle. Except the crossword clues are the total sum of all of the values in each vertical or horizontal section. The goal of the game is to fill each cell with a number from 1 through 9. Killer Sudoku combines elements of Sudoku with Kakuro – usually, no initial numbers are given, but the 9×9 grid is divided into regions, each with a number that the sum of all numbers in the region must add up to and with no repeated numerals. These must be filled in while obeying the standard rules of Sudoku.

If you enjoy playing Sudoku, then Ultimate Sudoku is a must have application for your Windows Phone as it has over a billion possible puzzles. :)

MSRP: $2.99; Get it for 15% off in the Gear Diary Store by using the code GDWinterBliss.

Freeware of the Week

Pocket Uno

I’m pretty sure all of you had heard of the game ‘Uno’. Uno is one of the world’s most popular family card games, with rules easy enough for kids, but challenges and excitement enough for all ages.

If you had not heard it before, I am sure you will like this game. The objective of the game is to be the first player to score 500 points. Points are scored by getting rid of all the cards in your hand before your opponent(s). You score points for cards left in your opponents’ hands. Rules are simple but the gameplay offers hours of fun.

MSRP: FREE! ; Get it here.

Stay tuned for next week’s roundup for more exciting new releases, updates and freeware!

I had a Uno game before, I think it is still on my HD at home, called Hot Death Uno. You could play in normal mode, and the Hot Death mode. The Hot Death mode has all these extra cards that (for me) were too hard to keep track of what they did. It was cool though.

Hot Death Uno was fun but it involves some foul languages. Much fun though I would say ;)
