Evernote has had an iPhone app since 3rd party apps were allowed on the iPhone a year and a half ago. The initial release was good… but limited. Among the biggest issues with it was that notes stored in Evernote were only available when the device had a data connection. Some time ago Evernote took the plunge and began to allow off-line notes. While it was a step in the right direction it was still more than a bit limited since each note you wanted had to be individually selected.
All that changed this morning with the release of Evernote for iPhone 3.2.0. Premium accounts can now store entire notebooks offline. It is a feature many of us who swear by Evernote have long wanted. Better still, it adds other great new features, as well.

The big feature update is the ability to save entire notebooks offline. This is a Premium feature but with Evernote Premium costing just $45 a year it is well worth it.
This new feature means that when I am flying to Vegas in a few weeks I’ll be able to access my “CES” folder in Evernote and read through some of the things I might have missed in the recent avalanche of CES information.
There are other new features too.
–New Notes
With this update any new note created on the iPhone will automatically be stored locally for quicker access. This makes sense since the note I create on my iPhone are often things I need to access a short while later.
–Editing rich text notes
The first releases of Evernote for iPhone didn’t allow notes to be edited. Later Evernote added a feature allowing editing but only plain text notes were accessible. Since more of the note I went to edit were rich text I was constantly frustrated by the message “Can’t edit this”.

The new iPhone app doesn’t let you edit rich text notes either. When you go to edit one, however, you will now receive a message asking you if you would like to create a plain text copy of the note. Once you do you can edit to your heart’s delight. It is an excellent work-around!
–Voice Notes
The new app doubles the amount of time a voice note can be to 20 minutes!
–In addition, there are performance improvements and a host of bug fixes.
The new app even lets you upgrade to Evernote Premium from within the app itself. Before you do, however, you might want to take a few minutes to enter our
