Twelve Days of Christmas- iTunes style

Posted on 24 December 2009 by

We all know the song The Twelve Days of Christmas?  Well, how about instead of turtle doves and lord a’ leapin’, you can get some freebies compliments of Apple and the iTunes store.

From Apple:

12 Days. 12 Free Downloads on iTunes.

The 12 Days of Christmas app will allow you to download a free gift from iTunes every day from December 26 – January 6 direct from iPhone or iPod touch.

You’ll receive an alert each day when your gift is available and get the chance to connect to Facebook to recommend free downloads to your friends.

Like the music, TV, apps and movies you receive? The app also offer recommendations of other content that you might like.

Apple is giving away free iTunes goodies for 12 days, starting on December 26th. Simply download the 12 Days of Christmas app to your iPhone or iPod Touch and wait for the reminder to pop up to remind you to download your gift. The freebies are downloadable for 24 hours and are yours to keep once downloaded.  The app is available for English, Dutch, French, German, and Italian users and works on any iPhone or iPod touch that run iPhone OS 3.0 or later.

Thanks to Geek.com for the heads up!

UPDATE: To everyone who commented that this isnt available in the US, you were right.  Per Apple, “An Apple spokesman stated that the “12 Days” giveaway will not extend to the United States. (Music is licensed regionally; the giveaway is the work of “iTunes SArL,” a wholly owned Apple subsidiary that runs the iTunes store in Europe.)  Sorry folks, it originally said it was available in the US.
