2009 has been quite a year for Gear Diary. There have been more than a few reviews and posts that have highlighted the year. Before we all go off to see off 2009 with friends, family and loved ones, let’s take a brief look back and find out what some of your favorites have been — and what you want to see more of on Gear Diary for 2010.

Judie wrung in 2009 with her second year-in-review questionnaire (hmm, wonder if we’ll see one this year
). Dan brought Kindlegate and the issues surrounding Amazon’s DRM/Download policy to the forefront this year. Larry briefly showed an alternate personality before lighting the net on fire (literally) with some hands-on testing of the ioSafe.

Wayne shared a series of insightful, irreverent, witty and often hilarious posts in a way that could only come from Mr. Shulz himself. P.S.: Be sure to check in with Wayne’s site throughout 2010, if you haven’t begun doing so already.

Jessica showed us how to hackintosh a Dell Mini NetBook. Carly emerged as the resident eBook queen and provides the latest and greatest updates on the realm of digital publishing with her regular State of the eBook series. Speaking of regular series’, let’s not forget Travis’s Blue Plate Special iPhone/iPod Touch application weekly feature; Michael’s GearGames Weekly or The NetBook Gamer; Dave’s popular Grinding Gears feature on the latest vehicles; and Allistair’s Windows Mobile Weekly Roundup (or the new Monthly Software Giveaway).
There have been many great contests and giveaways to Gear Diary fans — and there will be plenty more opportunities in 2010
. There have also been many great videos. From Dan’s original sneak peak at the Dragon for iPhone application, all the way to the recent Camangi Web Station unboxing Judie did just this week (in both cases GD was the first on the scene!), the editors continue to provide the most current updates in technology.
One thing is for sure, there have simply been just too many great posts to even try and single out one or two from each team member who contributes to this site. If the sheer volume and quality of all of the articles, reviews and updates that Mitchell, Joel, Christopher, Jeff, Thomas, Drew, Adrian, Mark, Kerry, Francis, Amy, Doug or Clinton have written over the course of ’09 is any indication; then 2010 will have some truly great content that will continue to set GD apart from other sites. What helps set Gear Diary apart is, honestly, you.
The readers here don’t go unnoticed. In some cases, some of you maintain your own tech blogs or site. You’re comments and insight help make Gear Diary more than just informative or entertaining. The dialogs and comments really help shape the content and dynamic, and (hopefully) that’s something we’ll see even more of in 2010.
We hope you have a safe and happy New Year’s Eve, and continue to chime in to let us all know what features you enjoy and what you’d like to see more of in ’10
.
