Recharge Your Gear On The Go With the Technocel Chargers

Posted on 05 January 2010 by

I travel a lot.  A lot a lot.  With my family in Austin, but my work in the San Francisco Bay Area, I spend a lot of time in cabs, at airports, in planes, in trains, buses . . . if it moves, I’ve probably spent time riding on it or waiting for it.  So thank god I have an iPhone with various eBook reading apps, games, internet access, Bluetooth, WiFi, and the whole smash.  I mean, whew.

The problem is, all that stuff under heavy use (say, on a flight from Austin to SFO) burns through the power, leaving you with a problem:  how the heck do you charge on the go?  Do you get a case with a spare powerpack built in, like the Mophie Juice Pack?  Do you plug it into your laptop and run the laptop for an hour or two, just to give your iPhone more juice?  Or do you, say, get some kind of portable charger?

Well, into the breach in the last category steps Technocel with a new pair of chargers (currently demoing at CES):  the PowerPak™ XT and PowerPak™ DUO, which Technocel describes as “the ultimate power solution for mobile device users anytime, anywhere.”

The PowerPak™ XT will be available for MSRP of $49.99 and the PowerPak™ DUO will be available for MSRP of $59.99 at Technocel.com on January 31, 2010.  Full press release follows.

Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. The fact that he commutes between his family in Austin and his day job in California is something that he is simply trying to live with. (Isabelle the Corgi helps.)
