The Facebook app updated to Version 3.1 today.  The update adds push notification as well as sync your friends to the iPhone address book adding their profile pictures to the contact information.

Go to settings to change any of the push notifications.  As you can see in the screen shot, there are several ways to configure the app.  Some people do not like to be bothered with push, so they can turn them off or pick and choose the service preferred.  I am not sure how I will configure my app, but I probably will not leave all of this on.

Adding profile pictures to contacts is easy.  Simply click view then yes and the app runs through the contact list adding the users current facebook profile picture.  Mine just finished and it worked well.  I randomly chose some of my friends and all of their pictures were there and correct.
