The worst part about getting new technology is the wait for it to be released. Well our friends at Qualcomm wanted to rain in your Nexus One parade by letting us know that a new single core 1.3GHz, a dual core 1GHz , and a dual 1.5GHz CPU versions were in the works. The best part is that the next version (1.3GHz) may be in devices by the end of this year. Luis Peneda dropped this information down to the Twitter community yesterday. The current Snapdragon processor is a mobile beast powering HTC’s Nexus One, HD2, Acer’s Liquid and the Toshiba TG01 smart or “super” phones. There are some other various devices popping up at CES like slates, smartbooks, but the phones are currently available in the wild as of a few months now.

Luis Peneda is the SVP of product management and gave a little info for next year’s timeline, Slashgear collected the info from Twitter and posted:

First up will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8X50A, a 45nm version of the current chip and clocked at 1.3GHz.  That will begin sampling to manufacturers later in January 2010, with the first products using expected by the end of the year.  It’ll be followed by a dual-core Snapdragon, the 8X72, with twin 1.5GHz Scorpion cores, before 2010 is out.  No definitive specifications, but according to Pineda the 8X72 will be suitable for both smartphones and smartbooks and capable of 1080p High Definition

If you always wait for new technology, then youll never buy anything.
