Droid “Lock” Is Easy To Pick

Paranoid about your personal data on your smartphone? You probably set the pattern lock on your Droid and figured you’d be all set. And you are…until you get a phone call.

Apparently, while the pattern lock is engaged, if you receive a phone call hitting the “back” button once the call is answered gets you into the phone itself. Oops. That pretty soundly defeats the “security” purpose of the pattern. Supposedly Motorola will be rushing out a fix shortly.

If you do lose your phone in the meantime, changing your password will at least keep a thief out of your email, etc.

Or, just use one of these to carry your phone, and be truly secure:
