There were some rather neat audio products were on display at CES. One of them was the Eos Converge System. The Eos Converge wireless multi-room audio system is for people who use their computer as their main source of music but don’t want to be locked to sitting in the same room as it to listen.

What makes the Eos Converge system stand out is that it requires no software or WiFi connection. The Eos Converge Transmitter and Wireless Receivers automatically connect to one another. That means there is no complicated setup or time lost fussing with connectivity. To start using the system to simply plug the transmitter into the USB port of a computer and then select the music to stream. That music can be anything from iTunes to streaming internet radio stations like Pandora and LastFM.

Unlike other wireless networked media players, the Eos Converge system requires no software or WiFi connection. The Eos Converge Transmitter and Wireless Receivers connect automatically right out of the box, so there is no complicated setup to stand between the user and their music. Just plug a the transmitter into the USB port of a computer and then select music from your favorite music player like iTunes or streaming internet radio stations like Pandora and LastFM. The Eos Converge system provides premium quality audio that will satisfy even the most discriminating audiophile.

Utilizing Eos’ proprietary GigaWave™ digital wireless technology, the transmitter’s signal can be streamed up to 150 ft through walls, floors and ceilings to Eos Converge Wireless receivers located anywhere in the house, inside or out. The Eos Converge Transmitter also features an auxiliary input allowing streaming of audio from an iPod, satellite radio or virtually any audio source imaginable. Eos’ simple, unintimidating setup makes the system perfect for non-tech savvy people from ages 8 to 80.

In addition to the Eos Converge Wireless Transmitter (200TX) the Eos Converge line features three wireless receivers. The Converge 200RX wireless receiver features line-level outputs and is designed to connect to the audio equipment that people already own (like home theater and stereo systems); alternatively, a set of powered speakers can be connected to the 200RX. The Converge 201RX wireless receiver features a powerful integrated digital amplifier that can connect to any pair of speakers. The 201RX also provides an auxiliary input so users can enjoy their iPod or other music player directly from the amplified receiver. Eos also offers a pair of bookshelf speakers (150SP) that are acoustically matched to the Eos Converge Amplified Receiver. These receivers feature controls that allow the user to play/pause and skip forward or backward through tracks in iTunes and on many other software based media players.

Additionally, Eos offers a self-contained wireless speaker system (model 100RB). The 100RB features receiver, amplifier and speakers all integrated into one simple compact design. The compact speaker/receiver provides great sound from a small enclosure by incorporating 2.1 stereo sound, with 2 tweeters and a back-firing subwoofer. The 100RB features a removable integrated power supply, so listeners can hang the speaker from any ordinary wall power outlet without mounting hardware or remove the power supply from the system’s cabinet for countertop or bookshelf use. The 100RB’s integrated compact design allows it to be moved easily from room to room and is perfect for the patio, garage, basement, hallways and bathrooms.

Users with an iPhone or iPod Touch can control their iTunes music, streaming from the Eos Converge Transmitter connected to their computer, using Apple’s free Remote application. The application allows the user to browse all of their music and select playlists, albums and artists and even globally control the volume level of all the Eos receivers, all from the mobile device’s touch screen.

MSRP of the Transmitter (200TX) and line-out receiver (200RX) are $99 each, the amplified receiver (201RX) is $149, and a pair of incredible sounding acoustically matched bookshelf speakers are only $99. The go-anywhere, self-contained wireless speaker system (100RB) is available for $129.
