Larry and I have been going a bit crazy with the app downloads from the Android Market. It is fun to try out a new platform and I am pleased to see that in the months since I had a chance to check out the Sprint Hero, the Market has gotten a host of new, and often awesome, apps. Bearing in mind that we have each spent a small fortune on iPhone apps there is one feature we have discovered along the way that is more than a bit awesome… In fact, it is something Apple could really learn from…
The first time I removed an app I had bought through the Market I was surprised to get the message that not only was the app removed but the purchase price had been refunded. Automatically! Seriously… I didn’t have to even ask for the refund.
Turns out, so long as I remove most apps within 24 hours of making the purchase I get my money refunded. Sure, this only works the first time you buy and remove (after that “you load it, you buy it”). Compare that the the BATTLE I have had with Apple when I bought an app and it did not work or to Apple pulling Google Voice apps and not refunding the purchase price and there is one CLEAR place where the Android market has an edge over Apple… Customer Service!!!
