News from the Googlesphere

It’s time once again for News from the Googlesphere…all Google news, all the time!

Google News gets starred:  The star feature in Gmail and Google Reader has always been a great help to those folks who want to go back and re-read something.  The stars highlight the email/post/etc and allow readers to go back.  Well, now Google has added this feature to its Google News.  Now readers can star articles (up to 20) and read them later, at their leisure.

Google App Store? Google is looking to ramp up sales of its Google Apps platform by jumping on the App Store bandwagon and developing a online store where it will sell business software from it partners.  It will be built off of the current Google Solutions Marketplace, where users can find add-ons, tools and support services for Google Apps.

Nexus One sold at other carriers:  There was much grumbling when it was announced that the Google Nexus One phone was going to be on the T-Mobile network.  Many consumers cried, “When will it be on AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint?” Well, the wait may be over.  An FCC filing is showing a model of a Nexus One that would work on the AT&T network. Also, if you look at the Google Phone web site, it shows Verizon Wireless marked for Spring 2010.  There is also some evidence of the Nexus One showing up on Sprint, but its unsubstantiated at this time.

Google Docs on Android: Android users have wanted to be able to download and edit their Google Docs for some time, but weren’t able to using the web interface.  Well, now there is GDocs.  GDocs for Android will allow users to download, edit  and upload documents as well as view PDFs from their Android phone.

Well, that is all for the moment.  Keep tuning in for more News from the Googlesphere!
