Weather Underground or wunderground.com is one of the first websites I have ever used for looking up the weather. Well, now they have a new interface for getting your weather information with fullscreenweather.com. Fullscreenweather.com is a mashup with Google Maps and takes the full browser window for displaying the weather info layered on top of Google Maps. I recommend maximizing your browser window to get the full effect.
You can drill down in the layer and see multiple weather stations in your area. The default layer shows the temperatures in all of the wunderground.com weather stations on the map.
You can also activate a cloud layer which overlays the clouds or a precipitation layer which will overlay the Doppler radar.
Weather Underground says that this site should work wonderfully on the iPad’s touchscreen:
The ultimate weather tracking tool, fullscreenweather.com
enables anyone in the world to quickly zoom in on the Google Maps interface to
view the most granular data available from Weather Underground’s
unmatched network of over 16,000 personal weather stations before zooming out
and scrolling across the world to view the weather conditions affecting friends
and family. This engaging new product is ideas for viewing on touch screen
devices such as the Apple iPad.
I also see this working very well on media PC’s like the Neuros Link. Head on over to fullscreenweather.com and check it out.
