Belkin’s Improved Laptop Cooling Pad Does the Wave

Posted on 15 February 2010 by

Belkin International makes a huge range of computer accessories, including routers, bluetooth devices, cases and cables for all sorts of devices, and laptop cooling pads.  In April they will be releasing an improved cooling pad that boasts a new wave-shaped design and Belkin’s “patent-pending AirFlow Wing” that enhances circulation, moving more hot air away from your laptop, which is, after all, why you purchase a cooling pad.  Here are the details that Belkin is touting:

-  Patent-pending AirFlow Wing for better cooling and quieter operation

-  Patented wave design enhances cooling capabilities

-  Single-fan design optimizes cooling with low power consumption

-  Includes USB cable and convenient storage compartment for it when not in use

-  Fits laptops up to 15.4″

The pad is designed such that it can be used either on your lap or on your desk.

The Belkin Cooling Pad is available for pre-order from Amazon.com at a list price of $29.99.  Checking Amazon’s listing today, however, showed a sale price of $24.99.

Jeff’s interest in computers and technology began by watching too many Star Trek reruns after school. His first computer was a Timex-Sinclair, for which he had the 16K – yes, 16K – add-on pack. His current interest in gadgets was spurred on by the original Palm Pilot; from there it was a slippery slope to Pocket PCs, Archos media players, Sony Cliés, and various Apple products.

This is really weird. I just picked up one of these in black at my local Best Buy. This was just a few days ago. I can email Gear Diary a photo.

That is weird. The press release indicated they wouldn’t be available until April and Amazon was showing pre-order status.
