GearDeal News- Lenovo ThinkPad X201t Tablet

Posted on 08 March 2010 by

I used a lot of Tablet PCs over the years, and one of my favorites was the Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC. It came in any color you wanted- so long as you wanted black, it was quite powerful (for its day), and it was clearly designed for serious use. I loved using it.

Lenovo is still in the Tablet PC game, and their latest offering is pretty impressive. Weighing less than 3 pounds, the X201t is powered by a Core i7 processor and Intel HD graphics.

The base configuration is impressive. It has a Core i7 processor running at 2.13GHz (with Turbo Boost it shoots up to 2.93GHz), a 12.1″ LED screen, a 250GB Hard Drive, 2GB DDR3 and much more.

The X201t is available now starting at $2134.00 through our GearSponsor, and it ships for free.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
