Best thing about them is that it's easy for me to hold them (I have problems with my hands and heavy books) Love the Kindle 1 for the big buttons, and I love the Kindle 2 for the text-to-speech when my eyes are having problems.
The first e-book I ever downloaded was Tarzan Of The Apes, one of my favorite books when I was a child. It was fun to re-read it on my Kindle 1.
Lately I've been emailing fan fiction to my Kindle. It's easier to read the fan fiction on the Kindle than to sit at my computer and read it on computer monitor. I can take the Kindle places that it would inconvenient to take a desktop computer to. I really love the two Kindles that I have. I'd be lost if something ever happened to them.

I have a Kindle 1 and a Kindle 2. I love them both. The e-ink technology does not strain my eyes, I have my font size on the second to the largest and I love being able to have hundreds of my favorite books at my fingertips, ready to read in an instant! The first book I read on Annabelle (yes, my Kindle must be named and properly accessorized, complete with decalgirl skin, a borsabella bag, a mighty light, and several covers!) was Distant Cousin, a wonderfully different sci-fi story. I've read over 90 books and counting since then! I love showing Annabelle off, she gets so many compliments! And I love kindleboards, which keeps me updated on free and bargain books!

I got my Kindle 2 the end of July 2009 and I don’t know how I ever lived without it, I absolutely Love it! When my eyes are tired from working on the computer all day I can increase the font on the K2 and there is no eye strain from screen refresh. I am a voracious reader and the K2 allows me to carry hundreds of books with me wherever I go. It's my favorite gadget.

I love my K2! Love having so many books in one small package. Love the availability of so much free material. Love reading on eInk - flat screen, no distraction from the oposite page, easy to hold. Love being able to increase the font size when my eyes get tired. Love Amazon's customer service.

I have both a Kindle 2 and a Sony Pocket reader. The Kindle itself has really increased my reading. There are tons of books literally at my fingertips. I can take 100s of books with me where ever I go and don't have to choose only one. I can choose to read anything and in 5 minutes decide to read something else without carting around a purse full of books. I can read whatever I want without anyone knowing what I am reading. I have my Kindle in an Oberon cover so it feels more like a leather bound book.

I have a Kindle 2 and love it. The battery life is great, when I turn off the wireless. Also, it's easy to hold the Kindle and turn pages with only one hand, which is extremely useful when standing on the subway or bus.

I have a Kindle 2, and I find that the E Ink display is comfortable to read for hours at a time, unlike backlit LCD displays.
