Welcome back to the GearGames weekly video game release feature here at Gear Diary! Wow … what a big week! We have the third entry into the classic Playstation-exclusive God of War franchise (the first two are two of the best PS2 games made, and the PSP version is in the top few games for THAT console!), and also the next entries into the amazingly long-lasting Pokemon franchise, Pokemon HeartGold Version and Pokemon SoulSilver Version, and much more.
There is also a DS RPG exclusive Infinite Space, as well as the first expansion pack for last year’s RPG of the Year Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening. There are a ton of other games coming out this week, so check out the list!

Some notes from last week:
- Final Fantasy XIII
- Yakuza 3
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising
- Assassin’s Creed II
- Probably the most divisive entry since Final Fantasy VIII, this game has opinions all over the map.
- Highly cinematic and not much new from the earlier entries, but still a solid game.
- If you enjoyed Dawn of War 2, this amazing expansion should already be on your playlist!
- Still solid, but some issues and the awful DRM make this a ‘don’t buy’.
What games am I playing now? Here is a sampling:
- PC: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – this Star Wars RPG remains one of my favorite games of the last decade.
- PC: Mass Effect 2 – yet another playthrough … this time on my new Alienware m11x!
- PC: Greed – Black Border – not a bad little hack-n-slash game so far.
- PC: Lunar: Silver Star Harmony – seems like a pretty typical JRPG so far, but pretty decent in all areas.
So what are you playing? Chime in below!
Enjoy gaming!
