Okay it’s confession time. I used to watch the MTV show “The Hills“. Yes, I watched the first few seasons. I’ve stopped, really I have. I swear. But I do still like to keep up on the Hollywood gossip, following the tabloids and paparazzi.
According to People Magazine, Spencer Pratt who made his name as the guy audiences loved to hate on The Hills, now says he’s leaving the show to take his career in a totally new – and unexpected – direction.
If you don’t know Spencer, he’s also the husband/manger of Heidi Montag, who’s been in the news lately discussing her 10 for 1 plastic surgery operation.
“In the last few months I have discovered a new passion and new purpose to my life,” Pratt tells PEOPLE. “With this in mind, I have decided to take a break from my obligations to MTV’s The Hills and discontinue filming any more episodes for this current season.”
Currently studying software engineering with a focus on encryption at USC, Pratt says he’s headed to work for American Defense Enterprises in their cyber security division.
Apparently Pratt got the idea after hearing President Obama’s recent speech on “‘cyber threat as one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation.”
Pratt goes on to say that his ” new mission is this: To do my part in maintaining the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent emerging technologies from threatening our nation’s security.”
God help us.
