Personal Theater kit for iPhones: Pass the Popcorn

Posted on 16 March 2010 by Larry Greenberg

You know those really cool home theaters, like the ones they show on MTV Cribs, with the slick leather recliners, 1000″ screen, popcorn machine and special lights?  Yeah, I wish I was wealthy enough to afford one too.  Sigh, maybe in my next life.

Well here’s a neat way to make your own home theater using your iPhone or iPod Touch and you don’t have to be a billionaire Hollywood starlet to do it.

The Personal Theater Kit is really neat way to turn an old shoe box into your very own mini movie theater, minus the popcorn.

You’ll need a shoe box, a color laser printer, good craft glue, a sharp X-acto blade, and about 1-2 hours of time.

The down-loadable kit sells for $12 and contains all the instructions and graphics you’ll need to construct your own cinema.  Each kit comes with many options for walls, floors, ceilings, marquees and lots of other extras.

I’m not the most creative person in the world but I think I just might have to give this one a go.
