I was looking at my nightstand last night and had a sudden realization…R I have too many devices laying around and I need something to organize them and charge them at th same time. Yes, there are lots of “stations” that will charge multiple devices but none have really caught my eye… Until now.

The IDAPT i3 Universal Desktop Charger lets you simultaneously charge three different portable devices. At the same time it lets you cut down on “cord clutter” (you should see what the space under my work desk looks like!). Best of all, the system is affordable.

The IDAPT i3 offers

  • Interchangeable “quick release” tip system allows for easy, customizable charging system
  • Compatible with over 3,500 brands of mobile devices, including Apple, Nintendo, PSP, Blackberry, Garmin, and more
  • Package includes either six of the most popularly used interchangeable tips, or you can custom chose 4 tips
  • It is available in black, silver, white, and pink

The unit has an MSRP of $59.99 and is available at www.idaptweb.com and www.amazon.com.

With my iPad coming at some point (long story- check out Judie’s and my post on it) I’ll have yet another device to charge. While this charger isn’t designed for the iPad it will let keep all my other mobile devices in one place without the current tangle of cords I am living with.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
