Welcome back to the GearGames weekly video game release feature here at Gear Diary! The dust is still settling from the Winter Olympics, but it is time to get ready for spring with this week’s annual barrage of baseball games! We get both MLB 10: The Show and Major League Baseball 2K10, the former released for all Sony platforms and the latter coming to everything but your toaster! This games are generally solid and fun and really intended for serious fans who stay on the treadmill, paying $60 a year for minor gameplay and graphical tweaks and roster updates. I tend to grab one of these games every few years which provides more granular and noticeable changes.… Continue reading on Gear Diary …

I love application bundles. In fact, it was thanks to a number of application bundles when I first made the transition to the Mac operating system that I was able to discover a host of great applications in a relatively short period of time. Bundles let you try getting a number of different software packages for just pennies per item. It means that you can try out applications you might not otherwise look at and along the way you may well find, as I have, that you stumble upon a few that become mainstays of your day-to-day computing. Better still, just one or two excellent applications in a bundle more than pay for it. After that everything else is just gravy. While it looks as if it is a bundle season for those of us who love the Mac OS X. A new Mac Heist bundle goes live in just two days. (Many of my favorite applications initially came through one of their bundles.) No doubt it’ll offer some excellent applications at outrageously good prices. In addition, theMacSale has just introduced its latest $49.99 bundle and it offers some nice applications as well.… Continue reading on Gear Diary …

Why Would Anyone Order the Joo Joo? That’s the question I have to ask myself, especially now that the tablet has lost on of its key advantages over the iPad and other tablets that are on the way… its shipping date. Yup, the Joo Joo was supposed to ship last week but that date has now been pushed all the way back to March 25th. That puts it roughly in line with what we expect with regard to the iPad, Other reasons the Joo Joo is likely not a good option…… Continue reading on Gear Diary …

News broke on Thursday that Palm’s WebOS phones are not selling terribly well. The Pre Plus and Pixi Plus on Verizon haven’t been enough to save Palm from issuing a warning that their upcoming earnings may not be sunshine and rainbows. Worse, there are indications that orders of their phones are slowing, indicating demand simply isn’t there. The big question now is, did Palm know this when they claimed production was shut down for Chinese New Year? If they did, and Chinese New Year was just a convenient excuse, there are quite a few people angry at Palm for that bit of obfuscation. And it may end up being more than just a white lie…… Continue reading on Gear Diary …
