Task #1: We’re Giving Away a 32GB WiFi Apple iPad; Here’s How You Can Enter to Win!

Posted on 07 April 2010 by

Update: Task #2 is now LIVE. Task #1 is now closed. Thank you for entering, and good luck!

As promised, today marks the beginning of our 32GB WiFi Apple iPad giveaway. We’re going to do this one progressively, as in each day the contest will get progressively better because we’ll add additional applications or accessories to the prize package.

Sounds great, right?

So as of today, the package consists of the iPad on its own, valued at $599 plus tax.

There will be a new post every day listing all of the accumulating items in the prize package, and each day’s post will have a task for you to complete.

Your entry will consist of a comment under the particular day’s post showing that you have completed that particular day’s task.

The contest will run for seven full days, and you will have up to seven chances to enter.

But here’s the deal:

Seven days

Seven chances to enter

On the eighth day one editor will randomly pick ONE of the seven days to choose a winner from.

And if you entered on the day which gets randomly picked, then you are among the few who will have a chance to be randomly picked the winner of everything (by another editor) from that chosen day’s contestants.

If you don’t play every day, then you lose a MAJOR opportunity to win.

Got it?

Now here is the first task. Complete it, and then report back by posting a comment showing that the task has been completed.

TASK #1:  Get a Twitter account, and then Tweet the following phrase exactly as written here -

I am entered to win a 32GB iPad & MORE from @geardiarysite http://bit.ly/bCBDr8 #geardiaryipad

After tweeting, post a short comment mentioning your Twitter name and that you tweeted the phrase; even better, provide a permalink back to your tweet. (You can get the permalink by clicking the time under your tweet on the Twitter site)

The Rules, AKA the Small Print

1. Everyone has seven chances to enter.

2. Entries consist of a comment under the particular day’s post showing that you have completed that particular day’s task.

3. The contest will run for seven days starting April 7 and ending on April 13. Each Task runs from noon Central Time the day it is published until noon CT the following day; at that time the following day, comments and pingbacks will be turned off of the previous day’s task.

4. On April 14, an editor will randomly pick ONE of the seven days to choose a winner from; if you entered on the day which gets randomly picked, then you are among the few who have a chance to be randomly picked the winner of everything (by another editor) from that chosen day’s contestants.

6. This contest is open to everyone, all over the world. Any import fees or duties will be the responsibility of the winner; I will pay your postage and insurance (if available), but I will not lie about the value of the contents on any customs forms.

7. You do not have to enter every day to win, nor do you have to complete every task; but your odds of winning are greatly improved if you do each day’s task.

8. I will contact the winner on April 14 through the email tied to the winner’s registered Gear Diary account. The winner will have 24 hours to respond with their real name and shipping address, or another winner will be chosen. I will post the time that the winner was contacted in a separate post on Gear Diary, which will later be updated with the winner’s name once there is a response.

If you have any questions, please email me.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
