As we mentioned at the beginning of the month, RingCentral has chosen Gear Diary and 24 other blogs to host their Ultimate Small Business Start-up Package Giveaway. Each of these 25 sites will give away one (1) account for 12 months’ free service of RingCentral Mobile ($300 value) to the winner of each of our individual contests. From those 25 winners, five grand prize winners will also be selected for the Ultimate Small Business Start-up Package (additional $862 value, for a total value of $1162).

Just to clarify again, the five grand prize winners will be randomly selected from the pool of 25 original winners (one at each site), so if you make it that far — your odds are really good to win big!

Are you ready? Here’s how to enter Gear Diary’s portion and possibly win your own “Ultimate Small Business Starter Package” …

To enter, post a comment naming these three things: 1) your favorite blog, 2) your favorite blogger, and 3) a paragraph about why #1 is your favorite blog and #2 is your favorite blogger.

Note: This is not a fishing expedition for compliments; we are genuinely interested in hearing about the sites you like and the bloggers you admire, so please — do not feel that extra weight will be given to posts listing Gear Diary — not that we don’t love to read them! Look at this as an opportunity to tell others about a site that you truly enjoy, and a writer who you enjoy reading. By the way, your favorite writer does not need to be on your favorite site! So if you list Blog A as your favorite, but your favorite writer is on Blog B, please go ahead and list the writer’s site as well.

Got it?

Our contest will run through Midnight April 24, and we will announce the winner of our portion of the contest on April 25. Remember that the winner of the 12 months’ free service of RingCentral Mobile ($300 value) that our contest is determining will also be entered as one in 25 to win one of five Ultimate Small Business Start-up Packages (additional $862 value, for a total value of $1162).

This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world; the winner of Gear Diary’s portion of the contest will be chosen randomly.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford

    My favorite blog: Geardiary.com
It gives me great reviews about new and more importantly varied upcoming products (most blogs feature only a small set, example: phones or laptops) geardiary in contrasts reviews accessories, ebook readers, cameras, and even cars!! thats just awesome.
I love the accessory reviews esp the one about the laptop carry bags (Acme Courier – I love that bag thanx to geardiary)

My favorite blogger: Matthew Miller (http://blogs.zdnet.com/cell-phones/)
I just like the way he reviews new cell phones and mobile applications. I have been following his blog since 2008 and I must say its a great site for new cell reviews. I like his easy language and that its really more user oriented rather than just technical jargon!

    Favorite Blog: GearDiary
Not fishing hear– I stumbled upon GearDiary a few months back and I haven’t turned back. I find myself constantly checking the site for new content. I really enjoy reading just about everything that goes live. Out of all the content on GD, I’d have to say it’s the comprehensive product reviews that keep me coming back for more. PS I like the readability of the posts; although I’m a techie, I think even my non-techie friends would be able to appreciate and understand the articles on this site!

Favorite Blogger: Joshua Topolsky, Editor-In-Chief of Engadget
Josh is my favorite blogger because he incorporates wit and humor into his posts; references to pop culture are scattered throughout his posts. It’s also obvious that he’s unbelievably knowledgeable bout about technology which is a must for a tech blogger. Just a really cool dude– see him on Jimmy Fallon’s show all the time.

    1. Favorite Blog – Gear Diary

    2. Favorite Blogger – Larry Greenberg

    3. I chose Gear Diary and Larry Greenberg because if I had never met Larry in person, I probably would have never known about Gear Diary which I now visit daily. I sat next to Larry on my flight back from CES in January without even knowing he was a blogger. We started talking about the show and I discovered he was just as much of a tech fan as I am. He casually mentioned he wrote for a tech blog called Gear Diary and I made a note to remember it. That night I checked out both Larry’s reviews and the Gear Diary website and was extremely impressed with both. Before finding Geary Diary I mostly visited Engadget, but Gear Diary really was a refreshing change. I find it easier to relate to the Gear Diary team and they always manage to dig up products and coverage that I don’t see anywhere else. I soon discovered Larry was a reviewing machine with a huge following here and on YouTube. I didn’t know it at the time, but I now recognize the avatar he used on the Treo forums I used to frequent back when it was my favorite smartphone. I could go into how Larry is also a fireman and even used his EMT skills to assist a woman needing help on our flight home, but the bottom line is: Larry loves technology and loves helping people and I totally respect that and feel we both have that in common. I’m currently in the process of starting a local computer support business and was actually planning to order Ringcentral Mobile. I end up meeting Larry, which leads me to Gear Diary, who is now hosting this contest. Coincidence or fate?

I really love the Phuse Blog: http://thephuse.com/blog/

    Favourite Blogger: James Costa

The Phuse specializes in Web Design, Marketing and Branding, and the blog covers everything from design elements to the joys of being a freelancer working out of your home. The blog is a refreshing mix of personal experience and design, branding and hosting advise. I really enjoyed the explanation of serif vs san serif, as well as James lamenting his parents reaction to his work.

Check it out, you might enjoy it to.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite blog is Pre|Central. http://www.precentral.net
I like Pre|Central because I am I webOS fanatic, and I love taking part in the Palm community. I check the site everyday for news about webOS, Palm, and news about apps I can download. They provide great editorials about the news happening with Palm, and unlike other tech websites, they are generally for Palm surviving and going alone (although that is probably because they are all Palm fanboys).
My favorite blogger is Nilay Paytal of Engadget.
He reports on everything and everything technology. I also appreciate the fact that while he gets his posts out in record time, he does so with superb grammar and styling. He always brings the news, but he also brings it with unique styling and thought.

    • haubey

whoops, spelling error. His name is Nilay Patel. Not Patal.
