Kensington Announces New Wireless Presenter Pro with Green Laser Pointer

When I was a kid, I thought that just about one of the coolest things my Dad owned was an extendable pointer.  It looked like a silver pen, but if you pulled on the top part, out it came until it was–well, I dunno, really; it seemed 20 feet long to me, but it was probably closer to three.

Obviously, we’ve come a long way in pointer technology.

Kensington is now offering their new wireless “Presenter Pro” pointer system.  Made to fit into your hand; green laser; that flat-black color beloved by so many guys; snazzy silver buttons; tons o’ functionality.  All yours from Kensington for an MSRP of $79.99.  Check it out.  But even so, I kinda miss ol’ Pop’s pointer … and his collection of slide rules.

Full information below.

Kensington Computer Products Group, a worldwide leader in mobile computing accessories, today announced its Wireless Presenter Pro with Green Laser Pointer to help business users deliver exceptional professional presentations. The smart made simple™ design from Kensington gives working professionals just what they need to maximize comfort, ease of use and dependability while presenting: an ultra- bright green laser, an extended 150 foot wireless range, four intuitive control buttons, a USB receiver that conveniently stores inside and a travel case. Tailored to offer the reliability business users need, this wireless presenter helps make impressive, top notch presentations in any environment.

Studies have proven that the human eye is naturally more sensitive to green than red light, thus making a green laser presenter brighter than a standard red laser. Green laser technology which is as much as ten times more visible than comparably powered red lasers, will also stand out more against today’s brighter projectors, plasma displays, LCDs or bright rooms. The Kensington Wireless Presenter Pro with Green Laser Pointer will work on virtually any screen or surface.

“A confident presentation is a powerful presentation,” said Bill Rathbone, Kensington Global Product Marketing Manager. “Kensington understands that business professionals need the tools to work reliably in every meeting situation. The combination of a bright, green laser and extended wireless range means that they can be confident and focus on what really matters – their audience.”

Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. The fact that he commutes between his family in Austin and his day job in California is something that he is simply trying to live with. (Isabelle the Corgi helps.)

I’ve been waiting for this. Why has it taken so long to put a green laser in a presenter/controller. I’m getting one for sure.
