GearDeal: Jason Parker Celebrates His ‘One Year Blogaversity’ … By Giving Us a ‘Pay What You Want’ Special!

Posted on 29 May 2010 by

I have nothing but praise for trumpeter Jason Parker, as I noted in my article calling him ‘a Great Example of ‘Pay What You Want’ in Action’. His CD ‘No More, No Less’ remains in frequent play on my iPod, and he has just completed his first tour, up and down the west coast from his home in Seattle.

He has also just reached the one-year anniversary of his ‘One Working Musician’ blog, and to celebrate he is offering all three of the CD’s from his Jason Parker Quartet on a ‘pay what you want’ pricing basis. And while obviously he hopes to see financial rewards for his work, this means you can pay as little as … well, nothing.

In honor of my 1st birthday, I am offering all downloads of the three Jason Parker Quartet CD’s as “pay-what-you-want”. This means that you are welcome to download them for free if you so desire. If you’d like to support my efforts to make a living as a musician, however, you can pay $2, $5, $10, $75…whatever you feel the music is worth to you. If you’ve gotten any ideas or inspiration from this blog in the past year, this is a great way to show your gratitude!

So head on over to OneWorkingMusician and grab some of the best mainstream jazz in recent years and pay whatever you can afford! His blog isn’t exact on when the promo ends, but he indicated in the comments about a week or so … so don’t sleep on this! And while you’re there check out the highlights from his recent tour and read some more of the blog entries that have had him called “The motivational speaker of the Jazz internet” and “Da Willy Wonka of music marketing”.

Also, if you are in the Pacific Northwest, check out his event schedule and see if you can find a place and time to check him out in person, because there is no substitute for great music … except for great music performed live!

Mobile Technology has played a major role in my life - I have used an electronic companion since the HP95LX more than 20 years ago, and have been a 'Laptop First' person since my Compaq LTE Lite 3/20 and Powerbook 170 back in 1991! As an avid gamer and gadget-junkie I was constantly asked for my opinions on new technology, which led to writing small blurbs ... and eventually becoming a reviewer many years ago. My family is my biggest priority in life, and they alternate between loving and tolerating my gaming and gadget hobbies ... but ultimately benefits from the addition of technology to our lives!
