For a while it felt like Amazon constantly had these 1000 MP3 albums for $5 deals, but it has been pretty quiet lately. Now they have exploded the vault once again with a new list of 1000 MP3 Albums for $5!
What really struck me was that they have a great section of 100 classic jazz releases. I don’t know about you, but too often I look through these lists and it is hard to know what is good or bad – we all know that even our favorite artists occasionally released something not really worth $5.
As I looked through the jazz listings I was amazed how many true classics were there – I’m talking things that appear on the ’100 jazz records to listen to before you die’ lists! Here are just a few:
- The Great Summit – The Master Tapes by Duke Ellington & Louis Armstrong
- Djangology by Django Reinhardt
- Giant Steps (Deluxe Edition) by John Coltrane
- Complete Birth of the Cool by Miles Davis
- Speak No Evil by Wayne Shorter
- Our Man in Paris by Dexter Gordan
- Maiden Voyage by Herbie Hancock
There is just loads of great stuff in the jazz category as well as the overall list – looking quickly I saw some Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lady Gaga’s hot album, J. Geils, and more. Check it out!
So what about the image at the top? John Coltrane – Ultimate Blue Train
