I don’t carry my laptop much of the time anymore thanks to my iPad. Typing on the iPad’s virtual keyboard works well, but to make real use of the iPad as a work device requires a keyboard. As a result, I leave a Bluetooth keyboard on my desk at work, and I carry the keyboard dock with me if I think I am going to be doing a lot of typing on the go. It isn’t the most convenient thing in the world, but it works for me and certainly beats carrying a laptop. I sure would love to have something that puts it all together… something like…  Sena’s new Keyboard Folio.

The Keyboard Folio looks like Sena’s iPad Folio from the outside , but inside… it hides a keyboard.

Sena describes the Keyboard Folio in this way:

Same elegant design as the Folio for your iPad, plus an integrated Bluetooth keyboard for functional fashion.

Leather book style side-folding design

Integrated Bluetooth keyboard

Recessed collapsible back stand

Seriously, with so many of us using our iPads as laptop replacements this is a brilliant design and, since it is coming from Sena, I have no doubt it will be properly done.

The Keyboard Folio for iPad has an MSRP of $149.99, but is on pre-order sale for $129.99. You can check it out and pre-order on Sena’s website.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him.

Okay; that goes right to the top of Doug’s list of “Coolest things I’ve seen lately.” Makes a lot more sense then the MINI Cooper stretch limo (which doesn’t make *any* sense, if you think about it.)
