I have a dear friend who son has Juvenile Diabetes. That makes me more sensitive to the disease, and the fight against it, than I might otherwise be. (Let’s face it, we tend to become sensitive to those issues that strike close to home.) That’s why I was struck by an email we got from a company that creates insulin pump and mobile device cases and accessories AND gives a percentage of their profits to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The company radrr.com was founded by David Winegar. He writes-
I am the founder of a new phone/mobile device/camera/insulin pump case company that is producing cases in fun colors and designs.
The company started as a case company for insulin pumps. My son, who is 8, has type 1 diabetes and has an insulin pump case. Our mission is to take some of the stigma out of having an insulin pump by covering it in something really cool. We want people to say not “What’s that?”, but “Wow,
that’s cool, where do I get one!” And that’s just the thing–the cases are perfect size for most of the major mobile devices out there. My son who is
using it for his insulin pump case, has gotten a lot of attention from his friends who also wanted the cases for their mobile phones. Our company also pledges 5% of our profits to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help find a cure for diabetes.
That’s pretty neat. Also neat is the fact that he created a 15% off discount code for all his products that is good until November 1. The code, “geardiary”, also includes free shipping. We encourage you to visit the site. If you order something you will save money… and do some good.
