Gear Games Deal: Direct2Drive ‘Summer Ends Event’, $6 for 6 Year Anniversary Events

Posted on 02 September 2010 by

I always try to track the big sales on Digital Download sites and inform you as to what is happening. But this is one that is going to go by so quickly I just can’t begin to pretend I will catch them all! Direct2Drive is now having a HUGE ‘Summer Ends’ event – for the whole month of September they are featuring two games per day for massive savings!

The Day 1 sale (Sept 1 – 2) is as follows (still going as I wrote this but due to be pulled at any moment):

  • Civilization IV Complete – 50% Off – $19.99
  • Hearts of Iron III – 70% Off – $5.95

By now I would hope you have bought Civilization IV Complete for much less than $20! That is a pretty mediocre deal to kick off a sale! However, at $6 Hearts of Iron III is pretty solid – I reviewed the Mac version of it here.

The Day 2 sale (Sept 2 – 3) is as follows:

  • Gun – 50% Off – $9.95
  • Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines – 50% Off – $9.95

Gun is a decent western-themed shooter and a solid deal at $. Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines is one of my all-time favorite games and one I did a retrospective review here.

They are also celebrating their 6th anniversary, and are putting a bunch of games on sale for $6 each week from Wednesday. Here is this week’s group:

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Jedi Knight Bundle
  • Achtung Panzer
  • Champions Online
  • Defense Grid: The Awakening
  • Tropico 3
  • Tropico Reloaded
  • Football Manager 2010
  • Penumbra Collection

As I mentioned, new ‘Summer Ends Events’ games will go on sale each day at around 1PM EST, but I can’t promise I’ll get them all so you should keep checking Direct2Drive!

Head on over to Direct2Drive now for the deals! But be quick – these are going to pass by very quickly!
