gear diary Apple iPhone and Touch Applications SPB Time Wakes iPhone Users Up!

In between when PalmOS was starting to die (Tapwave Zodiac!), and the iPhone was launched, I had a Windows Mobile phone–the HTC Universal phone o’ 1000 names.  Now, I hated Windows Mobile with a passion, as Judie can attest, but one nice “get” from my time on the Uni was locating the SPB apps.

SPB makes some durn nice apps.  And now you can get one of my WM favorites, SPB Time, for you iPhone.  The Time app has multiple skins, analog and digital display types, a calendar, and even the phases of the friggin‘ moon.  So if you are tired of the built-in iPhone Calendar and Clock apps, or just want an alternative, I can honestly say that I have been quite pleased with SPB app quality, so take a look for yourself.

Full information below.

SPB Software, a leading mobile software developer announces the launch of a skinnable time toolset for iPhone/iPad devices with lots of useful features and an eye-catching user interface – SPB Time.

iPhone users can now enjoy the variety of analog and digital clocks with more than 50 time skins available in the built-in online catalogue. The clock appearance, hands, digits, alarm icons, and background are highly customizable. World timer, stop watch, calendar and moon phases are also included in the toolbox.

Especially useful will the new application be for those iPhone users who have difficulties with waking up. SPB Time offers the choice of alarms for all types of sleepers. Along with classic alarm that has over 20 tunes, it includes the Bio and Paranoid alarms. Bio alarm is for those who prefer thegentle and slow way of waking up on the correct stage of their sleep. It starts the slight ticks and sounds of nature before the actual alarm time. Paranoid alarm is on the other hand for those who consider the regular alarm too weak to wake them up. In paranoid mode the alarm suggests the sleeper to solve the puzzle and won’t stop until it’s done correctly

Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. The fact that he commutes between his family in Austin and his day job in California is something that he is simply trying to live with. (Isabelle the Corgi helps.)
