Twelve South makes some of the nicest accessories around. We reviewed their BookBook iPad case and loved it. (My father-in-law stole it for his iPad and still won’t give it back!) We bought and reviewed their Compass iPad stand and I still use it quite often. Now Twelve South is introducing the BookBook for iPhone and it look awesome.

The BookBook for iPhone 4 is “a beautiful, pocket-sized wallet that holds both iPhone 4 and your driver’s license, debit card, cash and receipts”.

As the company explains,

Made exclusively for iPhone 4, this tiny vintage book replaces the need for a traditional wallet, which means one less item to keep up with, and one less thing in your pocket or purse. Two of your must-have items, iPhone and wallet, become one item. Having iPhone inside BookBook means you will never forget your wallet again.

Personally I tend to prefer a slim iPhone case that is as minimalist as possible. Still, the ability to have your iPhone and wallet in one place is attractive. Add in the fact that I have yet to be disappointed with one of Twelve South’s products and something tells me that I may just have found my next “daily driver”. Fortunately, I have a review sample on the way!

You definitely want to check out this video of the BookBook for iPhone.

The new BookBook for iPhone 4 is available now at Apple Store and twelvesouth.com for $59.99. More images and details can be found here.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen

Thanks for the info regarding this case.

It looks perfect for what I was looking for in an iPhone 4 case. So perfect, in fact, that I have ordered one already and it should get here tomorrow!

That’s awesome. I’m looking forward to getting the review unit and our comparing notes.
If you look at the comments on the hotel lock post from yesterday you’ll see an interesting take on such a degree of convergence. Curious what your thoughts are on it…
