Let’s face it: no matter how wonderful a piece of gear for my iPad is, I’m never going to look as sharp using it as this guy in his suit does. I mean, look at me! That’s the face of a guy who was born to be a writer, you know what I’m saying? No spokesmodel work in my immediate future, that’s for sure.
But I digress. This here is a pretty cool piece of gear. The folks at the Apple store are using a similar strap-based case to make using their iPads easier, and I myself have a case that I tested out that does the same thing. The problem with the case is that’s it’s kind of big and bulky, a difficulty that the Pad Strap that you see above does not have. And now the holiday promotion sale for it has been extended; it’s available for an MSRP of $39.95. Don’t you think you should check it out? It won’t make you look like a spokesmodel, but then, you’re a nerd anyway, right? Function over form, baby!
The Pad Strap for iPad has been specially designed to fit the iPad snugly, yet provide a comfortable and secure way for users to hold their iPad with one hand. The design was created to compliment the sleek and simplistic styling that helps makes the Apple iPad so popular.
“This has been a very successful product and sales around the world have reached beyond the goals that we expected,” explains Danl Kasow, owner of CarpioLab, the company that created the strap. “At first we had trouble keeping up with the demand but now we are stocked-up and enjoying the ability to discount our product for this holiday season.”
Doug is a nerd from way back, falling for a Commodore PET at the age of 15, and never looking back. Riding the nerd wave, he got a Computer Science degree and entered the tech industry at a young age, deciding after a year and a half of front-line phone technical support that he should try something, *anything* else. He settled on technical writing, and has been cranking out documentation for companies like Unisys, SGI, Cisco, Juniper, and many others ever since. The fact that he commutes between his family in Austin and his day job in California is something that he is simply trying to live with. (Isabelle the Corgi helps.)
