BlackBerry Tour Outdoor / Wave cases from Beyza – 20% off

Posted on 31 July 2009 by Wayne Schulz

blackberry tour beyza case.jpg

The new BlackBerry Tour has been out for a few weeks now on both Verizon and Sprint. This means it’s time to roll out the accessories for everyone to protect their device. While some people like to clip their BlackBerry devices into a holster for the world to see – I’ve started to us pouch type cases similar to this Outdoor / Wave case line from Beyza. I find it a lot easier to manage my phone is this type of case and I’m not constantly getting hung up by my case on my belt as I get into and out of my car. This morning I received an email from Beyza offering 20% off with discount coupon 1715. Cases are offered in the following color combinations (follow the link below for the images): Brown/Brown; Khaki/Tan; Dark Khaki/Tan; Orange/Tan; Brown/Tan; Red/Red; Yellow/Tan.

Beyza Cases makes fine quality cases for lots of different handheld electronics and Apple MacBooks.  I’ve owned a couple of their slim line series for my iPhone and found them to be attractive, well-made, and offering good protection.

If you’re a BlackBerry owner, you might want to check out the new Outdoor/Wave series of cases that Beyza just announced.  The Outdoor/Wave model is slipcase style, featuring a combination of canvas and leather on the exterior and padding on the interior.  Oh, and yes, the cases do support the BlackBerry sleep function.

Sponsor Love

Posted on 20 May 2009 by Judie Lipsett

It’s that time again…time for me to recognize all of the wonderful sponsors who believe in and who so graciously support Gear Diary…

I’ll start by mentioning our newest sponsor, LogicBuy. Have you noticed the near daily Gear Sponsored blurbs that Wayne started posting last week? Not to be confused with the GearDeals he has always scoured the net to find, these are sponsored posts pointing you to the deal of the day on the LogicBuy site. We’d like to thank Thai and the gang at LogicBuy for their support, and we hope that you all enjoy some extra savings when taking advantage of their deals.

Next is our original and longest running backer: Skooba Design (formerly RoadWired). Michael Hess believed in this site from the beginning and offered his company’s support. I’ll always be grateful that he took an early interest in us, and I hope that you all will show your appreciation for his leap of faith by clicking his ad and perusing his wares. You can see past Skooba Design / RoadWired reviews here.

Mingo Chui and the gang from PDair have been another longtime sponsor. I’ve been reviewing PDair items for years, and am pleased to take this opportunity to thank them for supporting us. If you haven’t clicked their button recently, then do! Once on their site, you’ll find that PDair has a solution for just about every one of your mobility needs. On this site you will find quite a few reviews of their cases and other products.

BeyzaCases has also been a faithful supporter of this site, and we truly appreciate them! Gear Diary readers have grown familiar with their products over the last few years, but Beyza has been around for quite a while. As Ali, my contact there told me some time ago, “We, as Neta Trades Ltd have been in this business since 1998, but we have started to produce and markeket under our own brandname BeyzaCases in 2004. Untill that time we were only producing our leather Cases for well known brandnames as a confidential contractor. We are still producing for many brands in same way. But since 2004 we wanted to be in this market as BeyzaCases for to share our experience and to show our quality. We are offering competitive wholesale pricess to our clients including fast and free shipment with a Great service. All BeyzaCases products reach our clients with “LifeTime Warranty”.” We have reviewed quite a few BeyzaCases’ branded products on Gear Diary, and you can see those reviews here. You can check out their latest offerings by clicking here.

I would also like to thank all of the companies who have sponsored contests through Gear Diary. Off the top of my head (which automatically means I am forgetting some), these include: HP, Scooba Design, Vaja, HTC, Epson, Speck, Ultimate Ears, BlueAnt Wireless, Astraware, PPC Techs, and so many others are the companies that spice up our usual offerings of news, reviews, and opinion pieces. We truly appreciate them! If your company would like to sponsor Gear Diary through a contest or advertisement, you can find details on how to do so, here.

As a reminder, another way to support Gear Diary is by signing up for a free one-year subscription to any of the Free Tech magazines from the Trade Publication button on the far right sidebar. You can purchase software (as well as hardware accessories) from the Gear Diary Store, and we also have an affiliate relationship with ProClip, makers of almost every in-vehicle mount solution you might ever need.

I would also like to thank YOU for reading Gear Diary, because without your continued support…what would be the point? :-D

Beyza Case Thinvelope… Redux

Posted on 13 July 2008 by Dan Cohen

A few months ago Judie received a MacBook Air Thinvelope from BeyzaCases. Thing was, she didn’t have a MacBook Air. A few weeks later, however, her MacBook Pro went on the fritz and, in good “gadget guru” style, Judie wasted no time. She sent it in for repair. In the meantime, Judie picked up an MBA to go with her beautiful leather Thinvelope. Isn’t it great when things work out so nicely?!

Not long after, I was breaking the 10th Commandment and coveting the heck out of her Thinvelope. After all, I had gotten MY MBA the first day they were shipping.

Being the AWESOME person she is, Judie sent her Thinvelope to me so I could review it for JustAnotherMobileMonday. Well… Continue Reading

Sponsor Love

Posted on 03 June 2008 by Judie Lipsett

It’s that time again…time for me to recognize all of the wonderful sponsors who believe in and who so graciously support Gear Diary…

First is Mingo Chui and the gang from PDair, one of our continuing sponsors. I’ve been reviewing PDair items for years, and am pleased to take this opportunity to thank them for supporting us. If you haven’t clicked their button recently, then do! Once on their site, you’ll find that PDair has a solution for just about every one of your mobility needs. Next is Ciao. They have the search box which you see in the far right column, and when you enter an item you’ll see what happens. Who and what exactly is Ciao? According to their site, “Ciao is a multi-million-strong online community that critically reviews and rates millions of products and services for the benefit of other consumers. Available free of charge to consumers in local language versions in major western European and North American markets, Ciao combines unbiased consumer reviews and up-to-date price information from hundreds of online retailers to make it the most comprehensive source of intelligent shopping on the web. Testimony to Ciao’s success, more than 38 million consumers visit the site every month, making it one of the largest shopping portals in North America and Europe.”

Last but never least is BeyzaCases. While the name may not be familiar with many of our readers, BeyzaCases products should be. As Ali, my contact there said back in May, “We, as Neta Trades Ltd have been in this business since 1998, but we have started to produce and markeket under our own brandname BeyzaCases in 2004. The Beyza Cases MacBook Air Thinvelope Leather Case Review

Posted on 23 May 2008 by Judie Lipsett

Back in April, when I first posted about the Beyza Cases MacBook Air Thinvelope Leather Case, I made the comment that if they created “this same style case, but with white stitching for the MacBook Pro 15, then I [would] have to put my order in immediately.” My contact Ali wrote to say that although they weren’t planning on making the Thinvelope for the MBP, the tan one did come in the color combination I wanted, and he would be sending it “ASAP, with your name. Maybe you’ll get a MacBook Air.”

Not very likely, I thought at the time; but in an almost prescient way, Ali turned out to be right. ;-)

Available in flo tan – which looks like a pebbly textured leather, smooth tan, black, antique black, antique brown – which in the picture reminds me of bomber jacket leather, and flo red, the Thinvelope is a sumptuous leather wrap made to protect your Air without adding a lot of bulk. As promised, mine came in tan leather with white stitching, and it was embossed with my name…and yes, you’ve probably noticed that I am a sucker for personalization.

A round magnet keeps the Thinvelope’s cover shut

The Last Day of Mobius Seattle 2008: AKA the Spectacular MacBook Pro Meltdown

Posted on 18 May 2008 by Judie Lipsett

When I arrived at the conference area to grab breakfast before entering, Tim McAfee was there to greet us, handing out REDFLY t-shirts. I was hoping for a medium, but some of the other guys had already beat me to them; he made it up to me by giving me two larges. Ha! After getting set up and then eating my food, I settled in with the others to listen to the first presentation on the Microsoft Zune.

Creative Strategies Presentation

Ben from Creative Strategies started a two hour discussion with the question “How is technology going to better integrate and improve people’s lives.” He gave a quick overview of the personal computing experience over the past couple decades, and about how many of the systems we had bought were basically versions of the current enterprise models. In the last few years, the trend has become about choices – colors, configurations, various sizes, making the whole experience more optimized and personal for each individual.

CS’s view of the Digital Future is that “No device is an island,” meaning that all of your information will be synced with all of your devices, in all of your locations. I’m ready for that…

8 Gadget Recommendations For When You Go On Holiday

Posted on 26 March 2008 by Jenneth Orantia

Part of the lure of a being on holiday is the ability to get away from all of your tech distractions. But if you’re reading this site, then you’re probably like me and derive an inordinate amount of enjoyment from having all of your toys and gadgets with you wherever you go. There’s a lot to be said for putting your smartphone, MP3 player, digital camera or laptop away in order to be able to fully soak in your surroundings, but when used in moderation, I think gadgets can actually enhance your travel experience.

There are all sorts of considerations to take into account when travelling with your tech toys. Will it have enough storage for all my photos and music? Is it durable enough to handle the rigours of the road? Will the battery last me until the next time I get to a power outlet? And what happens if my bag gets stolen?

Gadget insurance is something I’ll cover in another post, but the rest of the concerns are easily take care of with the right tech and accessories.
