It wasn’t really all that exciting, but here is my Black Friday story. First, I got up about an hour later than I wanted to, and missed some of the things I wanted to get, but I am very thankful that I did! From what I understand, even if you showed up at my first stop, Wal-Mart, you likely would not have been able to get some of the Black Friday deals. Evidently a lot of people showed up at Wal-Mart at midnight, loaded up their carts, and hung around until the price changes started at 5 am. Even so, when I got there around 6 am, there will still lines for the $69.00 Kodak Camera at the photo center, and when I first got there the lines were HUGE. I am so glad I missed the 5 am rush, as I would have still been in line at the time I finally did get to the store.

Yes, kids, it’s time for holiday, Black Friday, Christmas, Channukah, Kwanzaa, Solstice shopping madness. The holiday shopping season is upon us, and you need help! (Personally, I need psychiatric help, but that’s not germaine.) And the folks at SplashData think they have a little help to offer you: SplashShopper.
Sleep is good. So is saving money. So why choose one over the other this Black Friday when you can get plenty of both?
Some awesome products are having Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales that are worth checking out. Some of our favorites follow…

If you haven’t already rushed out the door to pick up a shiny new BlackBerry 9700, you may be able to snag one for free come this Friday. Â Wirefly’s Black Friday deal has leaked, letting new subscribers pick up the AT&T-branded 9700 Â for $0. Existing AT&T customers lusting after the latest BlackBerry can get it for $29.99. Â You don’t have to worry about crowds or lines, either since you’ll be able to take advantage of this deal beginning this Friday, November 27th through Monday, November 30th.
If you’d rather pick up a Storm2, Wirefly will be offering a similar deal come Black Friday only — $0.99 for new Verizon subscribers and $29.99 for existing customers (Note: if you miss ordering a Storm2 on Friday from Wirefly, the price will to $9.99 for new Verizon customers & $49.99 for existing customers Sat-Mon).
Need another reason? Â Wirefly is waiving activation fees for all AT&T and Verizon phones through Midnight 12/1.

And you’re in good shape (and will be in even better shape once you get it), because I’m going to let you know the secret!
If you have been hunting for a price break on the popular Nintendo Wii, then you know that there aren’t many sales on the units, because stores simply don’t have to mark them down to get them out the door. But from today until November 22, you can get the Nintendo Wii “with Wii Fit Plus and Balance Board and a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate for $290 shipped,” by clicking here.
The only way to get the sales price is to click here, select/tick all three check boxes (one for the Wii, one for the Wii Fit, one for the $50 Amazon gift card) and hit Add to Cart. The bundle may originally show up as $339.98, but when you checkout (it shows up on the last screen before you place your order) a $50 instant savings will be applied to bring the total down to $289.98.
This is a very good deal if you’re in the market for the Wii and Wii Fit. For those unfamiliar with Wii Fit, it is Nintendo’s initiative to incorporate exercise and fitness routines into video-games through the use of a plastic “balance board” controller. A very good video review of the Wii Fit Plus can be found here: http://bfads.net/Link/985.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year unless you get your loved one this “Netbook” on Black Friday. Â Kmart is offering what they call a netbook for $119.99. Â The only problem is this “netbook” has a 7 inch screen, 400 MHz ARM processor, 2 GB of storage and 128 MB of ram — and NO CHANCE of viewing a modern web site thanks to the ever crappy Pocket IE.
Unless they have pre-installed Skyfire or anything else, this computer is useless. Â As for running your favorite Windows apps? Â No way. Â The only thing you may have a chance of doing is hacking it, and putting Linux or Android on it, but even then it would be pretty danged slow. Steer clear of this Black Friday “Deal”.

Today marks the start of Walmart’s Holiday Values Bundle Sales. Perhaps the most notable thing is the $100 Gift Card with the purchase of any BlackBerry and Service Plan. They’ve got BlackBerrys for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, but according to BFAds, “there are early reports though that the online sale is better than the advertised in-store sale.”
Walmart has around 40 BlackBerry phones available including the newly released Verizon Storm 2 for $148 (not including the $100 gift-card) and the Sprint Tour 9630 for $99 (not including the $100 gift-card), you can see them all here.
If you are in the market for a new smart-phone (specifically a BlackBerry), this sale can not be beat. Additionally, for all phones that are not free with the new service agreement, you can take an additional $25 off your order with the coupon code 25rafpcver1.
This looks like a great deal for anyone who has been eye-balling the new BlackBerrys; kudos to Walmart for the discount!

I’m not sure how long it will last, but if you were one of those who paid big money for your Blu-Ray player when they were first the hot new item, this deal will sweeten the sting of being the early adapter and now having to see all of the new ones selling in the <$150 range. Amazon is having a 60% off sale on 101 of their selected Blu-Ray titles – some are as low as $9.99. That’s a little better than usual … right?

As November rolls on the deals will soon be coming. Yes, Black Friday is on the way. But the deals are here already…
From now to November 16th, you can get $20 of any purchase of $100 when you use PayPal to make an online purchase at Best Buy.
Best Buy?? PayPal?? Yup, Best Buy online now takes PayPal. And for the next few days you can save $20 on purchases over $100.

While I started the morning at the closest Walmart, I ended up visiting three different Walmarts thanks to my wife dragging me with her when she went to work today to drop work off.
After I went to my Walmart and got the coat and a gift for my son, I journeyed over to Grove City which is a exit or two away. There’s a large retail complex there with Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City (this store closing) and other stores. The first store I went to was Target and I snapped up a 750 GB External USB drive from Western Digital for $88.88. What impressed me at Target was it’s line to go in at 6 am. I can easily see why someone was killed today. Well, the line at Target was orderly, if long. MerryMob.com was passing out free cocoa and coffee to those of us waiting in the cold. After the doors opened, it didn’t take long to get things done.

Good morning brave souls! Today I am on a quest for good deals and I am going to take you on the Journey! First stop is the bastion of cheap: Walmart!
It was quite busy inside with a incredible line for laptops and desktops. I didn’t think Walmart’s deals were all that great today.
My Haul? Two things. A new coat for my son and another thing for him that I can’t say or he’ll find out!!
On to Target!

Online shopping comparison and research site Retrevo have published a comprehensive guide to the best Black Friday deals. Unlike other sites where you must be in front of the computer to research deals, this PDF document can be printed out and taken with you on your shopping excursions. While some of the deals in the PDF are online only – who knows whether you may find it cheaper in a B&M (Bricks & Mortar) store. I’m always wondering whether a deal I spot on the shelf is as good as one that I kinda maybe remember seeing online. Download a copy of this Black Friday guide and put your mind to rest.
