The keyboard on an iMac or MacBook is awesome. The island keys have enough separation to make striking the right key simple. They are shallow enough to make typing fast while having enough play to prevent frequent mistyping. They also tend to get REALLY dirty. I mean, my iMac keyboard gets trashed in daily use. Add to that the danger of spilling a Diet Coke on it and rendering it entirely useless (yes, we’re talking to you Ms. Lipsett), and the keyboard is calling out for some protection. I’m still trying to figure out how I’ll best be served by Google Wave; right now it seems like a huge disorganized chatroom. After some initial issues with one iPhone GPS app I have been using AT&T Navigator and finding it quite useful. It is fast, accurate and the redirecting process works well to help avoid traffic issues. The one downside of the app is that it requires an active data connection. Living where I do, however, it has not been much of an issue. Yes, the service requires an ongoing monthly fee of $9.99 but it also means that I always have the most current maps. Not a bad trade-off.
