Well last year, The Feed kinda did the Web equivalent: Secret Portraits. Here's what they say:
Over the past year we’ve <a

As I often do, I turned to Google and posed my question in the search bar. The first site that popped up answered my question perfectly, and when I took a look at the site which had provided my answer, I was pleasantly surprised to find that what it does is answer questions about the differences between things. As they explain ...
Differencebetween.net not only facilitates your understanding of a topic, but it also enables you to differentiate two similar subjects. It was then that he realized what had happened. If you are not familiar with Kickstarter, it is
an online threshold pledge system for funding creative projects. Kickstarter has funded a diverse array of endeavors, ranging from indie film and music to journalism and food-related projects.
One of a new set of fundraising platforms dubbed "crowdfunding", Kickstarter facilitates gathering monetary resources from the general public, a model which circumvents many traditional avenues of investment. Project owners choose a deadline and a target minimum of funds to raise. If the chosen target is not gathered by the deadline, no funds are collected (this is known as a provision point mechanism). <a

From a health perspective it was good. From a wardrobe perspective however... well that was a different story. Suddenly none of my suits fit. It was the same story with my dress shirts, and replacing them was going to be an expensive proposition.
I happened to mention my need to go shopping to a co-worker, and she told me that her father gets all of his clothes custom-made and often for far less than he would if he were shopping "off the rack". How did he manage this? Well his tailor came in <a

What's Sporcle?
Sporcle is a trivia based web site and not only is it super addicting, it's super fun. Well of course it is right? I mean what's addicting that's not fun ... at least in the beginning?
The site features a ton of short user and site created "quizzes" where you have to name as many of the correct answers as you can in the given time constraints. The quizzes are <a

In keeping with that analogy, it is fitting that LinkedIn has now come out with something that is more or less the same as Facebook's 'Fan' page that many entertainment companies have. It is called 'LinkedIn Company Following', and is as simple as searching out a company you are interested in, and clicking 'Follow' on their profile page.
From the <a

It usually goes something like this.
"Larry, can I jailbreak my iPhone?"
To which I reply "well that depends."
That enters us in to a discussion on the software and base band running on the person's phone, the different methods used to jailbreak and so forth.
Today I stumbled upon a really nice web site which should assist not only me but anyone wondering if they can jailbreak their iPhone. <a

One thing--something so small a lot of people rarely notice it--is a common area of interest for writers: type faces and fonts.
Fonts have been under development since the first movable type printing press was created in China back in the 11th Century (out of porcelain!). Gutenberg, of course, independently invented movable lead-based type. And we've been torquing it ever since. <a

Stop staking out houses and start staking out the new site, Please Rob Me. Instead of watching to see if there is activity in a house, you can locate users in your area who are mindlessly using Foursquare to broadcast their location to everyone on Twitter. Picking a mark is easy! Enter your area and look for someone who is eating a meal, attending a sports event, in the middle of a pub-crawl, or doing any number of other activities which might give you enough time to pull a major heist.
Once you've chosen your mark, click on their Twitter profile and get their real name. Look up their real name in the phone book or online, and then head on over to the 'house of easy pickin's'. That's all there is to it! And if you bring along your smartphone, you can even adjust the thoroughness of your burglary as you track their progressive tweets and Foursquare check-ins. It couldn't be easier!
Of course there is always the chance that someone might not live alone, but hey -- there are ways to figure that out, too!
How much would you pay for this kind of knowledge and this kind of access? $50? $100? $500?
How about FREE ... and you can get it right here. <a

After thinking about it, I instead sent out a tweet asking for suggestions. One of them came from <a

I went to the site and saw a full list of books - many by authors that I follow, and many of them not yet available. I looked at the titles and saw 'bindings" specified as Hardcover and Mass-Market Paperback, and I still didn't understand -- I was looking for eBooks, not dead tree. Their misquote of the Foo Fighters song Miracle on the bottom of the page only added to my confusion. <a

This is the definition I got when I tried out Google's new online dictionary. The new dictionary tends to work as expected, users can type in a word, and Google will give you the definition, part of speech, and maybe a similar phrase or two. It also will give you definitions it find around the Internet. If you happened to be logged in to a Google service , you can star a word for future reference.
Google will be using their dictionary exclusively now with their services.

And because it's the holiday season, you can get 20% off any accessory, part or repair that they offer when you use the code PPCTRC1109. This special is good until December 15th, so don't leave your busted PDA in the drawer - pull it out and let PPCTechs get it back into service! <a

More games are promised to arrive soon, so we can only hope and wait for other classics like Dig Dug and Tempest to arrive. Head on over to Atari Arcade and check them all out for yourself - they HERE. At the time the site was in Beta. It has now gone live, as of this morning. It's a new site that is somewhat a cross between Digg and Fatwallet! with a dash of Woot! sense of humor thrown in. Users can vote up deals they like as well as post comments etc. There are also 5 'hand picked' deals on top that Woot! get's a commission on.
So far, the deals seem to be pretty attractive, and in my humble opinion the style and layout are spot on.
