Earlier in the week I threw out the following question…
What current technology, service or product do you see as totally passé… And why….?
The responses were quite interesting and while there was a good deal of agreement there were also some places where our diverse group parted ways.
Here are some of the answers… Continue Reading

So much has already been written about the iPhone versus Blackberry, but what about some peaceful co-existence, or maybe overlapping contentment?
I carry an iPhone for personal use and a Blackberry 8110 (I know I know, but its corporate issue with an EXTREME IT Policy). What I’m thinking about is figuring out a way to tradeoff using a Blackberry Bold/Javelin for personal as well.. Carrier plans aside, I like both platforms and sometimes its nice to just carry one charger for both personal and business..
Are you carrying both an iPhone and a Blackberry? What have you found that makes it compelling or completely annoying?

Ever tried to understand Einstein’s Theory of Relativity? Or even just wondered if time travel was possible? How about if the ever wonderful warp speed in Star Trek was feasible?
These and many other questions have a serious grounding in the new book Why Does E=MC2? by Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw Continue Reading

If you haven’t already, please read our Initial Thoughts on the HTC Touch Pro2. That’s where you’ll find a full gallery of Touch Pro2 pictures as well as our unboxing banter. So without further ado…
Drew: The TP2 Rocks! I haven’t been this excited about a WM phone since the Advantage came out and then I was mollified for quite some time with the TyTN II. The gorgeous screen, super keyboard, and excellent phone/sound definitely make it a keeper if you are in the corporate world.

As I mentioned the other day, the European Union was reviewing capping the rates carriers can charge on international roaming across Europe. Looks like it got resolved today! Continue Reading

Judie: When HTC first sent news of their upcoming Touch Pro2 back in February, the personal note from my HTC contact said “PS: Know you have been waiting for the next Universal for awhile now…”
Heck yeah I have, and that was a bit of a tease if there ever was one!
Sure the radios, memory, processors, screen types – almost everything imaginable have been updated in newer HTC models, but as feature rich and highly spec’d as PDA phones may have been since 2005, I haven’t been able to keep myself from comparing all of them to the form factor perfection I personally found in the HTC Universal. But after waiting so long with no true contender, I’ve just about accepted that the Universal form factor will never return.
With that in mind I have turned a more accepting eye to current devices which reproduce and perfect other features of the Universal that I liked so much – its almost 4″ VGA screen, the excellent keyboard, the option of using tablet or “laptop” mode, its fast processor, its expansion ability, etc., etc.
Now that the Pro2 is becoming available, Clinton and I both have in hand loaners that HTC was kind enough to send; Drew jumped right in and bought his. So in this review you’ll get perspectives from a couple of people who might buy one and from someone who already has.
Is the Pro2 the next Universal? I for one am excited about having the chance to find out…

“Iran has blocked access to social networking site Facebook ahead of June’s presidential elections, Iran’s Ilna news agency and web users say” [Per the BBC]
Don’t you find this amazing, that due to politics in a country all users of FaceBook have been blocked. Imagine if you tried to login to Facebook this morning and you received the following message “Access to this site is not possible”? What would you think? Once you found out it was your government blocking your access would you sit back and wait for someone to do something about it, or would you do something about it?
Imagine the sinking feeling and the somewhat helplessness of having government intervention in your ability for free speech..
If you are as appalled as I was, read on further at the below link, and when you login to Facebook later on, don’t take it for granted.

“You never really own a Patek Philippe, you merely take care of it for the next generation,” or so we are meant to believe. Rubbish! Buy one for yourself and if you are lucky enough to have a son who understands and appreciates it, you can then not concern yourself to its whereabouts beyond your earthly presence.

I don’t know about you, but I walk into the DVD Rental Store and I immediately draw a blank as to what movies I’m looking for and then walk out with something that I just grabbed because I was in a hurry and got tired of scanning through the store.

In my lighter moments and more adolescent male times, in other words all the time; I play games on my iPhone!
Currently I have two games, Bejeweled 2 and Zombie Invasion. By far its more fun to play Zombie Invasion and watch the zombies bite the dust! Zombie Invasion is a classic shooter game with one shooter standing at the bottom of the screen shooting at the approaching zombies. As the level increases there are more zombies and more weapons.

I’m always on the quest to find new headphones to use with my phones and as we all know the headphone set that comes with the iPhone are most inadequate to the task. In my own case, I couldn’t keep them in my ear!
