I simply could not leave CES without getting some hands-on with the new Sony PlayStation Vita. Having abandoned Sony's PSP after the original device, I was hoping to get a feel of what the Vita had to offer. Gaming on a mobile device is coming along quite well, but I still feel the need to have a dedicated portable gaming device rather than a smartphone with gaming capabilities. We found a representative to give us a short demo of the device which highlights some of the features of the Vita and the new OS Sony put together.<p><a

The Retina screen and top-notch graphics clearly marked the iPod Touch as the 'gaming system to beat' - and games like Infinity Blade still defy the competition a year later! With Apple about to unveil their latest 'next big thing', I wanted to step back and take a look at the iPod Touch, the oversized MP3 player that has changed the gaming industry at a fundamental level.
The Nintendo 3DS came out earlier this year, and <a

I remember years ago buying a BOX of Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0 mice ... that is 5 mice! That way I had one for any situation or possible computer I would access. The reason? The two side buttons were perfect for games like Jedi Knight II where I could assign them to Force Push and Pull. The question now: is the Fierce Laser Gaming Mouse something to inspire that sort of idiotic devotion? The folks at <a

Called the SupaBoy, the system looks like an oversized SNES controller with a screen - and that is pretty much what it is! It has a 3.5-inch LCD screen, D-Pad action buttons and shoulder buttons from the SNES controller, and supports the original SNES cartridges. The system (still in prototype form) weighs in at 11.2 ounces and has a five hour rechargeable battery, as <a

The K381 is a white and silver full size mouse that offers some great gaming features without breaking the bank while doing so. This mouse is an enhanced version of the earlier M551 and is targeted at the gaming community. The mouse I tested this against is my trusty Logitech G9 gaming mouse. I have been using the G9 for quite a while and absolutely love it. When <a

Oh my.
I had a chance to attend the press conference where these were introduced, and a moment to fondle all three. <strong>The Experia neo:</strong> The phone I am most excited about personally is the neo; it has a beautiful screen and an amazing camera that works well in even the worst lighting situations. This phone is very media focused, and it comes equipped with HDMI support, an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The camera <a

I have been through a pretty good amount of hardware over the years and keep up my life cycle of gaming gear. Arctic sent us out some gear to check out and review a few weeks ago. I had a chance to check it all out and see how it fared on a few solid hours of Call of Duty Black Ops for the PC. I had a chance to check out some gaming oriented hardware including 2 headsets, a mouse, and a standard slim profile keyboard. Arctic offers some pretty great cooling products, but also has a nice line of headsets, headphones as well as some <a

style="text-align: center;"><em>Image courtesy of nairaland.com</em></p> A few years ago OCZ introduced some technology that could potentially change gameplay as we know it with the Neural Impulse Actuator (NIA). With this device you could use facial muscles and electronic signals from your brain to control movement and common keystrokes in games and could potentially free your hands for other functions. I never had a chance to actually try out the NIA, but from all the reviews I read and videos, it looks like a piece of hardware that a geek simply must have. Intel wants to build on that technology and take it step further.<blockquote>Scientists at the Intel labs are busy creating detailed maps of where activity</blockquote> <a

Do you do a lot of gaming on your iPhone 3G or 3Gs?
If you answered yes, you'll appreciate the <a
href="http://www.case-mate.com" target="_blank">Case-Mate</a> PWND case.  It's a silicone case that has severely reinforced corners which make it resemble a gaming console remote control.  When playing games that rely heavily on the iPhone's built-in accelerometer the case makes for a more ergonomic feel in your hand.
Available from Case-Mate for $19.99 it's not necessarily a case you'll want to rock 24/7 but if you're into marathon iPhone gaming sessions it's one you'll want to keep within arms reach.

href="http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/wheels/devices/5184&#38;cl=us,en" target="_blank">Logitech G27 racing wheel</a> is the follow up to Logitech's wonderful G25 racing wheel that came out a few years back. It is developed mainly for the hardcore gamers who love to experience every bit of the game, and play it in true sense. It is designed to provide the best racing experience to the PlayStation gaming station users and PC gamers. Having used the G25 in the past, I would say I am a very happy owner of the fantastic G25 racing wheel made by Logitech. The G27 racing wheel from Logitech is everything a racing simulation fan would ever want; leather-clad steering wheel, two motors for force feedback, manual gearbox, with clutch pedal.<p

In the meantime, I would like to share these unboxing photos with you racing simulation fans out there! Take a look! <a

When the first one came out in late 2005, I was skeptical and rented it, and soon thereafter used it as an example in my <a
href="http://www.geardiary.com/2010/01/18/resolutions-for-the-gaming-new-year/">'New Year Gaming Resolutions' article earlier this year</a>. Here is what I said:
"The SOCOM Confirmation of the Coded Arms Games Principle – SOCOM is the type of game I don’t like too much – small single player but mostly multiplayer (see Star Wars Battlefront Principle). So I rented it. Halfway through I was thinking I should have bought the game, but by the time the rental was over, I had played all of the offline modes at least once and had put enough online hours in that I felt done. So I returned it with no regrets." <a

style="text-align: left;">Gaming notebooks are not necessarily a new thing, but how about with multi-touch interface!?!  With iPhone gaming taking off and the new lines of tablet/slate computers, multi-touch is becoming more and more important in computing.  The touch aspect of iPhone gaming is wildly popular and the possibilities seem endless.  The Battalion Touch CZ-10 will now take this new aspect of gaming and institute it into a true gaming notebook.  The notebook starts at just $999 and is fully customizable.  Not only can you get a screaming fast gaming notebook, but also add mutli-touch gaming possibilities.  Release, photos and video after the break.</p><p

Most of it unfortunately ended up being products that we have already seen or demoed. Other than the couple of Slate PC's they introduced, I think Project Natal was one of the highlights of the whole keynote. MS is quite excited about Natal and had a nice demo video to prove it. (Although it would have been more exciting to see Steve Balmer demo is for us.) The motion sensing looks like it tracks really well and produces some pretty fluid motion and control.  MS also claims that it will be hitting the shelves by the Holiday season of this year.
