Hell, I'm reading a book called "The Magicians" that's considered Lit-ruh-chure (with a capital "Lit"), and the top-selling author on planet Earth is a woman who writes about witches and wizards. Whenever I see my friend Meni, he always has a neat app or two to show me. This time the app was just in time for Halloween. There isn't much to say about Haunted Face. For $.99 is lets you either take a new picture or choose one from your photo library, crop it, process it and... well you'll see in a second. The processing happens on external servers so you need an Internet connection. In addition, while you can email an image from the video it creates you cannot email the actual moving image. Today marks the 30th anniversary of one such surprise - the theatrical trailer of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. At that time there were no 'episodes' and the overall look was quite different.

Try as I might I've never quite mastered the use of chopsticks. I can fake it pretty well but it's embarrassing to see how fast others at the table can maneuver. Now there's a cool alternative to the boring wood chopstick. Amazon’s presidential candidate poll – based on halloween mask sales

Amazon is getting into the political polling busines. Sort of. I just noticed this morning that they've started an "Amazon Meter" which judges the success of each political candidate by how well their respective halloween masks are selling. Each of the candidates is measured by sales of 3 masks. For Barack Obama the masks are: Barack Obama Paper Mask Adult, Obama Teen/Adult Mask and Obama Adult Vinyl Full Mask. Similarly John McCain's popularity is tabulated from sales of the John McCain Paper Mask Adult, McCain Teen/Adult Mask and McCain Adult Vinyl Full Mask.
