style="text-align: center">Photo courtesy of Mary Huang
By trade, I'm a technical writer. A lot of technical writers are interested in the arcana and history of writing. Some folks are fascinated by books--their history, how they're made, how their distributed, and on and on. Some people go more for the technical side--what kind of eBook readers are there out there? How many different web-creation tools are available? You get the idea.
One thing--something so small a lot of people rarely notice it--is a common area of interest for writers:Â type faces and fonts.
Fonts have been under development since the first movable type printing press was created in China back in the 11th Century (out of porcelain!). Gutenberg, of course, independently invented movable lead-based type. And we've been torquing it ever since. <a

Google was said to have worked closely with HTC in order to produce a device to really showcase what they thought should be a premier Android handset. I was always curious about the design and collaboration that went into creating this device. Turns out a series of videos will explain just that! <a

My favorite part of her interview, other than where she named me as one of her top five sexiest female geeks in the world (blushing furiously as I type this!), was when Geeksugar had Nandini describe a typical day, which goes a little something like this... BornRich. Launched on October 5th, 2005, it has quickly become a place where visitors can come and be amazed at what more than a few dollars will buy.
Whether it be the Chrome Robot TV Stand, the Sharp Refrigerator with Thawing Mechanism, Nandini scours the web to find interesting and generally quite pricey items that we all might enjoy using if they were more easily obtainable; and always, Nandini will spike her posts with a bit of humor and wit.
Born Rich was Nandini's idea and her first blog; since then she has co-founded the Instablogs Network with her husband Ankit who lends a hand with the needed programming. Nandini runs the 100+ blogs that make up the Instablogs Network, which has just celebrated its first birthday. She also personally works on another gadget blog called CoolBuzz, which covers the "coolest gadgets and other consumer items."
<img

She claims to get a "perverse enjoyment" in covering luxury lifestyle.
I thought it would be fun to talk to Nandini about Instablogs Network, Born Rich, CoolBuzz, and some of the other goings-on in the Instablogs Network... DualCor cPC would be an understatement. To cut through the rumors, I went straight to the source and spoke with Rob Howe, President and COO of DualCor, on October 23, 2006.

After our phone conversation, I emailed him the notes I had taken along with further questions his comments had raised. To clarify, the numbered segments below are my notes based upon Rob's statements during our conversation.

Below, is the resulting email from him, published verbatim and with his knowledge...

1. Rob never said there would be not be a “version one cPC”. However, the main major processor is already obsolete, and parts availability for version one has become a problem. So the biggest issue at the moment is materials and the resulting prices for the parts used.

Gear Diary: Does this mean that version one might just end up being impractical to make, meaning that it would have to be realistically skipped over for a version two? Or does it simply mean that the components of version one would need to be reworked?

Howe: A little of both. Obviously we won’t release a product with a major part that is or is soon going obsolete. We’re evaluating several options.

<a
