Sony today introduced their $ 400 football shaped music player to the US. It will be distributed online at http://www.sonystyle.com/rolly as well as their Sony Style stores. The “selling” feature for this mp3 player appears to be that it uses robotic technologies to move it’s small parts (namely opening and closing arm-like doors at the end of the device) in time to the music. There are also 700 colors that flash in time to the motion. For those with lots of time to waste, and a yearn to make goofy YouTube videos, the device ships with Rolly Choreographer software. In what promises to be a classic Jump The Shark moment, R&B singer Omarion is slated to team up for a dance off between man and Rolly. I’d wait for this to show up on Woot! Take a look at the YouTube demo video below if you need further convincing.
