How To: Ditch the Everything Bar on Google’s Search Page

If you're a heavy Google user such as myself, then you probably noticed the new mandatory "Everything" bar now located on the left side of your Google search page. Some may not care but me being a daily Netbook user, I need all the screen space I can get. A friend emailed an article from TweakGuides on how to get rid of this new annoyance. I thought I would pass along the information in case anyone else finds this new Everything bar as useless as I do. Opera Mini Rubbing the Approval Process in Apple’s Face?

As many web sites are reporting Opera Mini submitted its iPhone application to the Apple iPhone App store today for approval. Many of those who were able to get a sneak peek at the software called it "lighting fast" and described it as making browsing on the iPhone over EDGE much more tolerable. The big question on everyone's mind is will Apple loosen its grip and actually approve an application that mirrors something that the iPhone natively does, i.e. - web browsing via Safari? For all you folks who are on Windows Mobile devices and love the Opera web browser, today is your lucky day. The beta of version 10 of the browser is out and available for download. The new features:

New interface that makes it easy to use and navigate.
A new Speed Dial that lets you have your most accessed sites available at the click of a button.
Tabbed browsing for having multiple sites open at the same time.
A password manager to save those web site passwords.
Touchscreen or keypad navigation.
Save images to show folks offline later.
Opera Turbo to offload your page rendering to one of Opera’s servers

Once you've use the iPhone's Safari browser, all other mobile browsers (and even some desktop ones) seem barely usable. The Safari browser is that good. Yes, after using an iPhone exclusively for two years I have found that trying to browse on the Blackberry Bold is, at best, an unpleasant experience. Sure, it works, but that's about all I can say for it. Now, Opera has released a new version of their mobile browser -- Opera Mini5 beta. Opera, maker of the Opera web browser, has just announced Opera Unite - a feature that turns your web browser into a web server with one click. It's hard to categorize, but the description makes it sound like a mash up of P2P, social networking, file transfer, internet relay chat, instant messaging and cloud-based technologies.
