Vincent and his crew at PhoneMag have an unboxing of the new LG Decoy that was just released today by Verizon Wireless. This is a low priced slider ($179 after $50 MIR) whose main claim to fame seems to be that it has a built-in holder for detachable Bluetooth headset. As with most phones these days it plays music (mp3, wma, aac and unprotected aac+) and takes pictures and video via a 2 megapixel camera. Hop on over to Phonemag and watch the first 45 seconds of the YouTube unboxing video and tell me if it doesn’t look those scissors could make Ashley’s fingers go missing at any moment.

All of you who’ve been waiting to check out the upcoming Samsung Instinct can commence salivating: Vincent has unboxed it and posted impressions, and it looks tasty!
The Instinct is primarily a touch-screen centric featured phone that’s wrapped up in a thin candy-bar form-factor; measuring 4.57 by 2.17 by 0.49 inches thick and weighs 4.4 ounces. The screen measures 3.1-inch offering 262,000-color touch screen, which will be your interface for almost all of the device’s functions including making and ending phone calls. There are three separate touch controls placed right below the display: a Back, Home and a shortcut control that will take you to the calling menu. I’m super thrilled that the Instinct features localized haptic feedback, a faint vibration to indicate you’ve pushed a button.
Before you dismiss it as an iPhone wannabe, you seriously need to go take a look…

Vincent at PhoneMag.com posted some great pictures of the new HTC Diamond taken at the London press conference earlier today. Check out his full live summary of the event here. Then read Vincent’s excellent writeup about the event here. Finally, join me in the comments as I wonder aloud “Holy Cow - Did HTC Just Reinvent the iPhone on Windows Mobile 6.1? How do these guys stand up in front of a press conference with a straight face…in front of a sign that partly reads - HTC INNOVATION…”. Update: This only has 4GB of internal storage, includes a GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, 900 mah battery. More stats on the next page.

As anyone who has had their ear to the interwebs can tell you, something big is going down in London tomorrow. While we didn’t score an invite to HTC’s invitation-only event, we do have the next best thing: our friend Vincent was invited, and he will be there live-blogging the entire show!
Chase Higgins of PhoneMag fills us in on how to participate…
The registration for the event is at 11AM sharp. From there, it is rush to the seating, so that come 11:30AM, our team will have the best seats in the house. Keep it locked right here, as soon as I am sent information from the team in London, it will be posted. Though the actual press event is the main attraction, it is not the only exciting thing going down.

I have been watching WildCharge with much interest since I first learned about their concept several years back. The idea is simple - you lay your electronic gear on a inductive pad and the items charge without the need for any cables. I love the idea, but waiting for the product to become available for devices I actually use has been a long time coming.
Vincent visited with WildCharge in their office yesterday, and he had an intensive bit of one-on-one time with top execs as well as the product. They set him up with a slim case for his iPhone, a charging pad, and allowed him the chance to really explore the concept.
Technically speaking, the WildCharge adapter for the iPhone and iPod touch is actually integrated into a high-quality gel case called “Skins”, a gel covered product made of Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) material. WildCharge wire-free charging technology is located on the back of the case and all you have to do is slip your iPhone or iPod touch into the case and then drop it anywhere on the WildCharger charging pad. It’s that easy. A blue light on the left hand side of the pad lights up notifying you that the juice is pumping through your device.
