Slacker offers a popular radio service for BlackBerry and iPhone that allows users to select and create a wide variety of free music channels. This week they’re demonstrating versions for two new platforms, Android and Windows Mobile, at the CTIA show in San Diego CA. There is no set timeline for when the applications will be available for those platforms. You can create a free account and listen to Slacker on the web at the link below.

Check out this cool demonstration from dynapocket that shows a Windows Mobile device running some lightning fast voice translation software. You speak the phrase, the device translates to both text and spoken word. I’m sure it would be a bear for lengthy conversations but for emergencies like “where is the nearest bathroom” it’s worth the money – whatever the ultimate price.

Still hanging onto your Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1 device? Not sure about this whole 6.5 upgrade? Really jealous that people with 6.5 can use the totally awesome and well stocked Windows Mobile Marketplace? Well, first of all, it’s not well stocked, so you can drop your jealousy a tad. And if you head over to xda-developers, a kind soul has already stripped out the Marketplace cab and made it available to all of us that are still on 6.0/6.1, so you won’t have to shell out for an HTC Pure just to buy apps on your phones.

Google Voice, if you have been missing out, is the Internet based phone forwarding service by Google. It gives you a separate phone number, which you can give out as if it is your regular phone number. You can then change your settings to have calls forwarded to any of your phones. Best of all, it is free except for international calls.
Now, OneTouch Solutions has developed OneDialer, a solution for Windows Mobile users to use this wonderful feature on their phone. It is a fully featured Google Voice dialer, SMS and Visual Voicemail client.

One thing I didn’t realize would happen when I upgraded my Dell Axim x51v to Windows Mobile 6.1 recently, was that I would lose the ability to read my DRM-infested ebooks in Reader format because Microsoft Reader didn’t support the latest version of Windows Mobile. As far as I could tell Microsoft Reader was a dead product. I searched around on forums and blogs, and the only solution I could find was using utilities to transfer my Reader books to a format readable in Mobipocket Reader. I did that for one book I bought a while ago and had wanted to finish on a business trip this past weekend, but in general it wasn’t something I felt good about.

The new Pantech Matrix Pro is a chunky and solidly built little smartphone, offered exclusively by AT&T. Measuring 4.17″ tall x 2.0″ wide x 0.85″ thick and weighing 5.34 ounces, it might be easy to dismiss this little beast as too thick and too heavy. But just like a story with a surprise twist at the end, there is more to this quad-band Windows Mobile Standard 6.1 device than first assumed.

If you’re like me, then you likely have your life on your mobile device. I am currently using the AT&T Tilt (HTC Kaiser) while I wait for the iPhone 3G to be released. Like many, I use a lot of the fine products by Ilium Software. One of my favorite apps, is eWallet. I just heard from my very good friend, Julie Van De Water that eWallet 6.1 has been released.

From Dashwire you can send/receive SMS’, share videos and photos and give the world a view of what you are doing at a particular time just to name a few.
