This challenge is compounded by the fact that so many of HTC's phones seems to be a slight variation on the same theme over and over and over again. (The same holds true for Samsung's phones which all offer slight changes in screen size, features etc while remaining largely the same.) As Judie wrote in <a

The screen was like nothing I have previously seen on a mobile device! Spec-wise the rest of it was pretty impressive too. The phone features a Dual-core 1.2GHz Samsung Exynos Processor, has dual facing cameras (8MP rear, 2MP front), 802.11n WiFi and 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot Capability for up to 8 devices. The Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display is 4.52", it runs Android 2.3 OS (Gingerbread). Of course the phone has Bluetooth and GPS and Samsung claims you can get up to 8.7 hours talk time.

The press conference is under way right now (Dan is there as I type), and just as we thought details are slim. A 4.5" SAMOLED+ screen is destined for AT&#38;T, T-Mobile, and Sprint, while Verizon is holding off for the Samsung Galaxy Prime, or Nexus Prime or whatever they decide to call it. As I watch the blogging commence I noticed while reading over at TmoNews some of the announced features of the new phone. What caught my eye is the promise of the robust Enterprise features that will be included with this phone <a

style="text-align: center;"><em>Image courtesy of Droid-Life</em></p> What drives me nuts about mobile carriers these days is that I truly believe they are using new technology against us. Maybe you think I'm out of my mind, but it's really easy to see the common trend happening with 3 of the 4 big carriers in the US. As mobile broadband and equipment evolve, our data plans seem to reverse direction and impose some serious and costly limitations. If I remember correctly in the past before smartphones were big, you could use all the data you wanted. But let's remember the hardware was not nearly as advanced and you really weren't streaming anything over a mobile <a

It always pays to shop around, even when buying a carrier-branded phone.
Did you know that the same phones you can buy at the Verizon store are available on Amazon -- some at greatly reduced savings from the carrier sites? No kidding -- on the Verizon site, the <a

Especially since the full retail says $569.99.

There has been a long-standing debate and rather good argument over whether tethering your phone is legal, ethical, or financially worth it. Most platforms today have programs available that allow you to tether a wired or wireless device to you phone without buying another data plan. Most wireless carriers do offer tethering at an additional cost, but even then they limit you data speed and connection options. These days almost everyone that has a phone capable of tethering and has an additional device or two that could benefit from sharing their 3G/4G data cellular data.

All you needed was the email address of a Sprint employee, and you'd qualify for a special plan called "Sprint Employee Referral Offer" or SERO. Basically it was deeply discounted service, and the people lucky enough to sign up have enjoyed ridiculously cheap wireless for the last few years.
In an attempt to drive people off SERO and onto the more lucrative "Simply Everything" plans, Sprint stopped allowing SERO customers to upgrade to new phones. Basically, name a hot phone on Sprint, and SERO customers couldn't have it. No Evo, no Palm Pre, no Epic 4G, etc. Unless you let them pry <a

The event formally introduced Sprint's new powerhouse smartphone the EVO 4G. I also had a chance to get a good close look at the phone, play with it for a little while, and see some of their marketing people do a number of different demonstrations with it. The short version of this post -- I'm pretty impressed by everything that this Android powered device can do. Sprint's Dan Hesse kicked off the evening by introducing the EVO 4G and... in the process... took a few shots at the iPhone for lack of Flash among other things <a

style="text-align: left;">One of the main themes of this year's CTIA Wireless conference was Mobile Broadband.  People just can't get enough of it.  <em>Literally!</em> Major wireless service providers in the U.S. have long been battling it out over whose network reigns supreme for speed and reliability.   The race is heating up with the promise of 4G speed in our future.   What was interesting at this year's  CTIA Wireless conference was to hear vastly different approaches being taken by each carrier.   Whether you're on AT&#38;T, Verizon or Sprint, you can expect a different approach to 4G -- and time frame on actual the actual deployment to this technology.  Let's take a closer look and see how this impacts your service and customer loyalty to a specific carrier.</p><p

This smartphone will feature a 1GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processor, <strong>dual</strong> cameras including an "<strong>8.0 </strong>megapixel auto-focus camera with HD-capable video camcorder and a forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera."
With its built-in mobile hotspot functionality, the HTC EVO 4G can allow "up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices to share the 4G experience. Users can easily share an Internet connection on the go with a laptop, camera, music player, game unit, video player, or any other Wi-Fi enabled device." The rumored price is said to be only $99 with new contract.
I can't understand how Wal-Mart got the rights to sell the phone, as it is now exclusive only to the Google site since the announcement. Hopefully the sale goes live soon and will give <a

Besides this HTC WiMAX device, the most interesting finds are a new Palm device showing up in Sprint's inventory under a <a

Sprint purchased Nextel in 2005 to become Sprint Nextel, but they've continued to maintain the two separate networks.
They are also planning to release new CDMA-based handsets for use on the network including their first Smartphone - the Blackberry Curve 8330.  Boost is planning to offer the Blackberry Curve for $249.99 with an unlimited plan including talk, tet, web, and email for $60 per month.
The other phones Boost will be offering are the <a

Its a nice little post- Christmas gift from Sprint and Palm...and will make many a Pre and Pixi owner a happy happy camper <a

It certainly has garnered more attention and excitement and previous devices, but there are already a number of android handsets on the market that are actually quite good. I recently had a chance to spend a week with Sprint's version of the HTC hero, and I found myself more than a bit impressed. So with that in mind, I thought we might take a good look at a fantastic Android device that's been on the market for a number of months already. <a

href="http://www.Billshrink.com" target="_blank">Billshrink.com</a> just did an analysis comparing the iPhone 3GS on AT&#38;T,  the Palm Pre on Sprint, and Motorola Droid on Verizon.
If you are looking at an unlimited voice and data plan, you will spend $1,250 less over two years.  There are still substantial savings even with more limited plans.  The phones, on paper, have fairly similar specifications and capabilities and in terms of Network quality, speed, coverage ranking I would say Verizon, Sprint, AT&#38;T in that order.
It makes it all the more painful why Sprint had such bad results as <a
href="http://www.geardiary.com/2009/10/29/poor-poor-sprint/" target="_blank">discussed earlier today</a>. Sprint really is one of the best valued carriers at the moment. <a

When the phone's button is pushed you  connect almost instantly to another walkie talkie capable phone without any need to dial (other than the  unique walkie talkie number of the person you're calling which is different than their phone number). These phones can also connect to Sprint/Nextel phones, participate in group chats and  work locally as well as nationwide.  <a
