Starting April 19 Target stores will offer $1 reservation cards that ensure you can obtain the hottest new video games on launch day. While the store bills this as a “collectible reservation card” in reality it’s more of a hybrid reservation service and coupon program that offers $5 off your next purchase.
The program kicks off with reservations for Punch Out!, EA Sports Active, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings and UFC 2009.

While I was at Target tonight (Manchester CT) I spotted this Peek wireless email device priced at $49.95. The unit doesn’t show in the weekly sales circular which left me wondering if this could be a pricing mistake or maybe the start of a permanent price reduction. Upon further investigation, if you look at Peek’s own site here, you’ll see they are now offering the device at $49.74. Peek has experimented previously with specials and deals that temporarily lowered the price of the device. This time it looks like the cheaper price is here to stay. Now they just need to get the monthly email fee down to under $10. UPDATE: Peek’s site lists a “Valentine’s Day” special and this $49 price may be in honor of the day – time will tell if this is the new everyday price for the Peek.

Prepaid cellular calling is growing into a big business. The days of when you’d have to pay an inflated per minute rate on prepaid are long gone. Sure they charge you a little more but you can get a full cellular phone for under $50, load it with prepaid minutes and be able to talk within minutes. There’s no annoying contract, no annoying phone salesman, no rejected rebates, if the phone breaks you buy another cheap prepaid phone and swap your SIM. Some of the carriers (T-Mobile for one) allow you to keep your minutes for a full year so long as you buy them in $100 increments. Through February 7, 2008 Target stores have a sale on $50 prepaid cards from all the major carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Boost). Pay $ 45 and you’ll receive a $ 50 card. If you’re a heavy talker and texter – check out the new Boost plan for $50/mo (now only $44). I picked up a Boost Mobile phone for $29 (i425), bought a $44 Boost card and activated the phone on an unlimited plan. Watch for a full review later this month once I’ve had a chance to see how the Boost coverage works in my area.

You wouldn’t know it by my lunchtime eating habits (now where shall I get my lo mein today?), but my girlfriend and I like to consider ourselves as at least pseudo-gourmet chefs. And let me tell you, it’s hard work to whip up mess of Pseudos without overcooking them. Especially if you have to keep track of multiple burners and an oven.
Luckily, Tuscan Concepts and your local Target Store have teamed up to help solve that particular problem. The fix is after the jump.
