Happy Thanksgiving!

2011 has gone by in a blur, and here we are again -- looking at the beginning of the end of another year.

This year has been a tough year for many; even so, there are many things worth being thankful for.

These are some of mine:

I am thankful for my family -- both immediate and extended: Mom, Sarah, Kevin, Jordan, Kelsey, Jordan, Jayda, Grabb, Wesley ... and a granddaughter (!!) I will meet in April next year.

I am thankful that the two friends of mine who dealt with cancer over the last year are continuing to doing well. We may not talk often enough

Thanksgiving is a great time to take a break and recognize all of the things in our lives which are going right ... the things we have to be thankful for. Once we start thinking about the things in life that are good, it doesn't take long before we realize that there is much to celebrate. So have a virtual turkey dinner with us on this Thanksgiving, as we celebrate the good things and enjoy the day!

We hope that all of you who are celebrating Thanksgiving today have a huge list of things that are going "right", as well as loved ones to celebrate your day with!

Join a Virtual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving for Charity!

"Turkey trots" are a very popular thanksgiving tradition. Usually they're organized events, with a large group of people and race volunteers, etc. But you don't need to join a full race to run a Turkey Trot this Thanksgiving, just head right out your front door! Instead of just running your usual route, though, you can still make Thursday's run special. The fine folks at Dailymile are spearheading the "Feed the Turkey" virtual run this Thursday to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital. All it takes is pledging $1, $5, or $10, and then heading out for your run! Today is all about stopping the rush, stepping back, looking at life a bit more clearly and being thankful for the things that matter. Sure, those are things we should try to do all the time but... too often... the rush of life gets in the way. So today we stop. We stop work. We stop posting. We stop. And we give thanks. Watch Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on webcam starting at 9:30am EST

Earthcam will once again stream the 82nd New York Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade live on the Internet via their New York City web camera beginning Thursday November 27 at approximately 9:30 am EST. Streaming requires Windows Media Player. Archives of the 2007 event are hosted on their site. The biggest benefit to watching on the Web versus TV? No need to mute the happy talk from the TV hosts. A little Al Roker goes a long way although I enjoy watching to see what shade of fake orange tan Meredith Vieira had herself sprayed down with before going on the air. I want to take this opportunity to tell you all what I am thankful for this year... 1. I am thankful for my family and close friends, that they put up with my odd hours and compulsive computering without too many complaints. ;-) I am thankful that they are all generally very understanding and forgiving of the fact that I spend nearly every waking moment doing something gadget related - even when I am sick or supposedly on vacation. I am thankful that they usually understand that the only way for me to relax is if I am in front of a screen - whether it be PDA or computer. Yep, I am a geek. :-P 2.
