Recently Phosphor began combining their popular Appear watches with nylon bracelet wristbands, and the result has been a bit of a transformation. Before, the Appear relied upon a leather wristband that had to be bucked -- in my case on the last hole; now there is a lightweight and fashionable bracelet which can be sized (by removing individual links) to perfectly fit even the smallest wrists.
The bracelet Appear features a modern, fashionable resin band finished with a
<a

Ask a runner, "Do you have a Garmin" and they aren't going to wax poetic about their Nuvi...they'll know you mean a Forerunner watch. But Magellan is looking for a piece of that pie, and they'll be debuting two new watches, the "Switch" series, designed to appeal to runners as well as "crossover sports" (triathletes, bikers, and swimmers, presumably).
Based on the press release, it sounds like the Switch will have very similar features to the competition, including the ability to race against a specific pace, mark laps and miles, and use a heart rate monitor. It should be interesting to see if Magellan can unseat Garmin <a

This watch features a six-sided mirror finished watch face that displays the time and date in a 3 dimensional like display. The illusion of 3D is given by the angle and placement of the digits on the face which displays a cube like pattern giving off the effect of 3D time. This looks like it's actually one of the less cryptic displays to read, but is still certainly one of their coolest designs yet. The watch is <a

This new custom timepiece named the "Seikatsu Koujou Kyokusen" is a teamed effort between Better Living Industries, the rock band My Chemical Romance, and Tokyoflash themselves. The watch has some of the great features you came to know and love from Tokyoflash, but with some added features custom implemented by the MCR and BLI. The watch features a squared off stainless steel face, some magical LED's from the Tokyoflash workshop, and a white leather band with the BLI logo on Image courtesy of Tokyoflash
In the past few months we've seen some pretty killer designs and concepts from the Tokyoflash design team and their concept blog. The latest concept watch is designed to let you know when the Sun's UV rays are too much for you to handle. The concept has a built-in sensor that reads the amount of UV light radiating from the sun and gives you a measurement based on the World Health Organisations radiation scale. The scale ranges from 1-11 and is easily readable on the "always on" lcd touchscreen display. The unique watch also displays both the date and time, and it sports an alarm clock perfect for that mid day Gadgets and Gear. They're clever, interesting, not too durn big (what is it with the new trend in watches these days that they all have to be ginormous?), and they're reasonably-priced to boot. (I have the new Green Geek Power watch and have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and not-ginormous it is.)
So here's an interesting one. One of my favorite iPhone apps is the one that turns my iPhone 4 into a lighted mirror. It's great for me, since I travel all the time, and don't particularly want to cart a mirror around with me. But what about you poor folks out there <a

Some of those "nano-bands" include Image courtesy of Tokyoflash
It seems like every week Tokyoflash puts out a new watch for us to drool over. Once in a while they bring back a classic or a best seller and give it a fancy new upgrade. Just when I think I found a watch that will be my next purchase, something else comes out and makes that decision all that more difficult. Just the other day we announced the concept design of the breathalyzer watch, which looks pretty stellar aside from its party tricks and hopefully comes to see the light of day. Today marks the announcement of the second version of the Kisai Rogue SR2. This is not <a

Or maybe you and your friends were having a contest to see how many Zima's you could put away during your all night Magic fest with your local guild members. Either way, nothing shows off your super geekness more than a fancy new Tokyoflash watch especially when it's sporting a built-in breathalyzer. This concept is bringing the best of two worlds together, the ability to tell time in classic geek style and now the ability to tell you blood alcohol content too.<p

What's so exciting about tracking your heart rate when you run, bike, or swim?
The harder you work out, the harder your heart works. So let's say you decided to head out for a nice, easy run because you have a big race in two days. It's the perfect day; not too sunny, there's a nice breeze, and you feel like you can really crank it up a notch. But you know you need Images courtesy of Tokyoflash
Tokyoflash has excited the geek nation once again by re-releasing the Kisai RPM design. Back in November the Kisai RPM was outed as the first user submitted watch design (concept-to-reality) to be made by Japanese company. This time around, Tokyoflash went for a material swap and ditched the Stainless Steel body and strap for an all Acetate design. That sounds really fancy and all, but I needed to know what exactly Acetate was in order to get excited about the watch being made from it. So I consulted Merriam Webster and got this out of them:

Definition of ACETATE

1

: a salt or ester of acetic

<a

But we're just going to go with it and that's what this series is all about, our Gadget Desires. When we see something new we REALLY want we're going to share it with you.
And first up is the Italo Fontana's Classico Carbon Fibre Ceramic Watch. I'm not a big fan of the watch's history (This design was first created to be used on German U-Boat's during WWII) but I really like the look. As the <a

What I do know is that Phosphor, the company behind the <a
